SU15 Improves Loading Time (?)

Featured Replies

I may be wrong but it seems loading time is significantly faster. Secondly, my GPU temp has been lower since the last beta build up to the official release. Is it?

What about your CPU temp?

Kind regards,

They do make these claims, but mine is about the same to the load screen, but maybe a bit quicker to the fly screen.
I haven't timed it, so I have no scientific data, but certainly I never thought "that was quick!", and if anything it seemed to take ages on "checking for updates".

Overall though, it is a reasonable update, and the only one we will be getting this year anyway.
Performance is fine, but once again I detect no real difference as I was locked at 60 fps 4k (my monitors limit) and I still am, so all good.  I am just pleased they have fixed the DX12 bleed, so I have finally switched to DX12 now.

Nothing actually noticeable on this end. I haven't timed it before and after, so there might be seconds shaved off but you don't really feel that when load times exceed a minute or more. Still the same old painful load time.

What about performance improvements?   Anyone notice anything different?

Big improvement for me.

So nothing scientific here, nor was I measuring in any way but, I was participating in the beta and it seemed as though yes, at the start of the beta performance was very much improved. Then they made some updates and seemed I lost that extra performance. But who knows, maybe it is placebo effect? I did update the nvidia drivers during beta but thought it was that so reverted back to my original drivers and still did not help. Not to say performance is bad, it just isn't better like they claimed it would be (or so it seems to me). But I do recall that they mentioned some people may see bigger improvements than others, depending on the PC setup so...

Clean installation, both W11 and MSFS2020. Smoother also with Fenix. Best version ever ,for me.

Miquel.

I thought it loaded super quick. then I realised I had emptied my community folder before the update and that was the reason for the fast load on restart. Even so, with the community folder loaded up again, the sim does still seem to load a bit faster.

1 hour to download at 21Mbps and decompress.

Content download was a further 6GB but I don't have a lot of scenery loaded so didnt get all the updates I guess. I only load scenery when I need it.

Restarted after mandatory update. Then restarted again after downloading content. All went very smoothly with no hiccups at all!

Cheers

Terry

No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea.

I think loading times have improved a little for me, but I still get plenty of time to gaze lovingly at the Dune ornithopter splash screens. 😍

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

I noticed this morning that the little glitch where an up date screen shows between startup and splash screen for a fraction of a second , is still there. They never fixed that..
