Best AI solution

Featured Replies

So, the way that I see it there are four AI aircracft solutions; Project AI, FSLTL, PXPT and FS Traffic.

I've used all three:

1. Project AI - the installation and management in the past has seemed very cumbersome. Doesn't use real time data and airacft can use all sorts of random runways, routes etc.
2. FSLTL - very easy to setup and install. Decent models and liveries. However, although it uses real time data, aircracft are all over the place; random runways, go arounds etc (makes somewhere like EGLL a nightmare).
3. PXPT - the real time data and the fact aircraft are always in the right place, using the correct runways is a major bonus. But, the interface is cumbersome and quite often I can arrive into an airport and there are no other aircraft there. Updates way too regularly.
4. FS Traffic - disaster

For me a combination of FSLTL and PXPT would be ideal. What does anyone else think?

Also, what is the best in terms of performance?

  • PSXT is the best., IMO. Why? Because it copies exactly what real aircraft are doing currently/did at an earlier time period in real time. Everything parks on the correct stands/parking areas, tak

You forgot the best one, AIG.

FSLTL when flying live, AIG when flying non-live, what is usually the case because my simming sessions are always around 8-12pm UTC. No joy to do only evening/night flights 🤣 Besides this, having big hopes in the BATC AI traffic solution...

I opted for FSLTL a fair while back - for similar reasons to your own. I use AI-Ground and AI-Flow to help out.

What's the best performance wise?

AMD Ryzen™ 9 9900X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 12 Core, 24 Threads, 4.4GHz, 5.5GHz Turbo

32GB GeForce® RTX 5090 Graphics Card

FSLTL does everything I need, sounds and looks great.

FSLTL since it allows me to set a big amount of static aircraft without having them clashing with the flying/taxiing ones.

This.  If using FSLTL, using AI-Ground and AI-Flow are a must.

I never found AIground and Flow to do anything helpful to be honest, still had runway incursions, fly bys, taxiway cut offs etc,

This is exactly what I was going to type, best combo for me

Project AI?? That takes me back to FS9 and haven't heard about it since then.

It all depends on what you are looking for. If it's easy, then FSLTL, simple as that. Decent number of models and liveries assuming you don't want much for Cargo.

If you want a solid all round everything but takes effort from the user to install, then AIG. More models, and 10X the liveries as well as lots of GA.

You can even blend them and run the FSLTL injector with the AIG fleet to get a far better mix of real time traffic than just FSLTL.

Personally, I use PSXT with the AIG fleet and it's amazing for those areas that have good coverage and for areas that don't have great coverage which isn't very oftenw I'll use AIG and just put up with the bad parking and overall corniness from the default AI engine of the sim.

Performance wise, they really are all very similar. It all comes down to tuning each of them to work with your system. Generally though, any similar number of AI aircraft regardless of what method you are using will yield the same performance. This is another reason I love PSXT, you set the injection radius but it doesn't spawn aircraft at nearby airports that you'll never ever see and aircraft park where they should for the most part again assuming good coverage.

interesting that you say this as I recall the FSLTL development team suggest not using these supplemental addons with their later builds (over the last year or so).

CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB
MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro |  GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K

I have both FSLTL and PSXT along with backup AIG models.  I like both and alternate between them sometimes.  I like the fact that with PSXT the aircraft are all parked at the correct spots and use the proper runways.  It has some quirks but overall I prefer it over FSLTL.  I have not used AI FLow/AI Ground with FSLTL in a while so may do that combo on next flight.  Those apps do have separation controls similar to FSLTL so you have to disable that setting in one or the other  I feel like sometimes PSXT is harder on FPS and I do set Maximums in the interface to limit live and parked traffic similar to what I use in FSLTL. Might be the way traffic is injected...or just my imagination...

I think the best option is under development and due for release in the not too distant future. Beyond ATC has written an AI program that overlays MSFS but runs ouside of it, I think (check their website and vids for more info) it uses whichever AI aircraft you have installed (I think FSLTL are the best) and will accurately control every AI aircraft within your sim from gate to gate, it will also be a free update to the already released BATC.

It's a bit of a stretch to cite an ATC program as an 'AI Aircraft Solution', but by that criterion:

The best, currently available, option is FSHud, which natively supports FSLTL and AIG, and any aircraft incorporated into a traffic BGL. It too accurately controls every AI aircraft within your sim from gate to gate.

You forgot the best one, AIG.
