Did Seb also say there they've released the new SDK and docs now? (starts around here about 3rd party devs and making use of the new FDE features: https://youtu.be/VyNi-Ic9mXQ?t=389) Seb said there that the old planes from 2020 will just work without any or very minor changes in 2024. And if the authors know exactly how the plane is supposed to fly because they are pilots, it will be easier for them to tweak the plane up to 2024 capabilities. He said this sort of attribute tweaking is easier using the 2024 methods and SDK than the old 2020 methods. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Tengo 24 Gb de VRAM, 32 Gb de SRAM y en 4 años nunca he visto más de ~18 Gb de SRAM en uso para toda la PC, no solo para MSFS. I have 16gb of ram and never really noticed that I needed more the bottleneck was always the main thread.

What I hear from others is that in VR, more system RAM is needed than in 2D. I don't know if that is true. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. September 20, 20241 yr i'm really disappointed by the footage shown by content creators so far. i know nothing can be 'confirmed' based on the footage alone for various reasons, such as how the recording software was configured, the PC specs they were playing on, etc, but the performance looked god awful - a stuttery mess. really, really reeeeeally hope there are actual improvements in this area over FS2020.
September 20, 20241 yr In one of the clips, it was mentioned the sim was running on a 14900K and 4080 Super PC. Despite these 'ideal' specs and claims that MSFS2024 will run on current hardware, I suspect the sim is geared towards next-gen GPUs and CPUs. The 5080/90 should be landing by the end of this year, so I'm holding off on upgrading.

I thought it was better to ask more questions on FS2024 instead of using the time to ask about the pettiness of a competing developer. It's obvious that the accusations are false since they're based on "Asobo doesn't have access to the aircraft" which is a ludicrous notion. Maybe another time. Optimization is usually the last things done to a game. The stuttering could also be from the fact there were dozens of computers all using the same network connection It could also be an old build. Usually demos like this are a month or two out of date. Edited September 20, 20241 yr by Tuskin38
September 20, 20241 yr The MSFS 2024 SDK does not yet appear to be in the wild, given Mathijs's post yesterday: https://forum.pmdg.com/forum/main-forum/general-discussion-news-and-announcements/328544-fs2024#post328544 Dear friends, it is logical that you all want to know more about PMDG and FS2024. And I'll share a secret, so do we! The simple fact is that we know as much as you do. We currently have no beta or SDK, so we are not in a position to make comments or reply to questions. So, please don't be upset when you hear nothing. Per the FSElite interview from yesterday about the SDK and 3rd party devs, at least (and naturally) the partner devs like iniBuilds etc do have access to the SDK and docs. September 20, 20241 yr 2024 is an upgrade but still could be so much more. 3D landscape, rocks grass tessellation etc look fantastic missions, training, loads of aircraft, more advanced flight planning, physics upgrade, cirrus clouds and improved lighting are all great. ATC is delayed though - that’s disappointing but hopefully will be with us with an early update. AI traffic logic - no news yet on that, hopefully dev q&a may provide answers there. solid mass under bridges still - I thought that was fixed? those strange black lines around certain landmasses like cliff edges where it meets water - I still see that unfortunately default airports, I would like to see some screenshots of the improvements to those - we already know about the handcrafted ones which have had a touch up. I was going to leap into the deluxe (steam) version again, but as I have Xbox ultimate I’ll probably try the standard first for free I’m excited but also concerned- just a little bit 😏 New PC Ryzen 9850X3D - 32gb ddr5 6000Mhz - MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk wifi - Gigabyte wind force gaming OC 5090 - 2TB Sabrent NVMe. I have seen it, but won't remember where because I saw so many videos and read so many articles that would be impossible to remember. It seemed pretty good. You can even see your whole flight path in-sim (like flying a drone with your flight path marked on the screen).
