Not really with DDR5 and the X3D chips. Can't necessarily just slap in another two sticks, because the memory controllers have a tougher time handling DDR5 and 4 sticks, especially at 64GB and beyond, plus AMD in general have a tougher time with that. So you might end up not being able to boot at all, thus you have to reduce speeds or loosen timings. So it's a bit of a crab shoot, for some it'll work, for others it won't. To be on the safe side, get the best experience, you need a specific 2x32GB kit. So that turns up the price a bit. 5 minutes ago, VeryBumpy said: Like joysticks, watch there be a surge shortage in ram and 4x price increase. A bunch of flight simmers buying some RAM is such a tiny, tiny segment, that will barely register as a blip on the sales radar of RAM. Definitely won't cause any shortages or price hikes. FYI changing the UI is something devs do all the time in regular updates for other simulations, let alone DLC or a new game! Not to this extent, especially in its functionality, not just aesthetics. It happens only with new games. But what do I know, I just played it for hours. 😂 Edited September 20, 20241 yr by Abriael Editor-in-Chief at SimulationDaily.com

Yes agreed.. while the jump from FSX and sims at the time to MSFS 2020 was revolutionary, the jump from 2020 to 2024 is more evolutionary but IMO a pretty sizeable one! And with all the different evolutionary changes combined and considered as a whole, along with the unprecedented network of 3rd party partnerships for this sim release, *that* IMO is revolutionary. Kudos are well deserved for Jorg and MS, and the MS top brass clearly views the sim franchise as something to heavily invest in, which in a sense is a highly evolved way of thinking and doing business for a tech giant like MS 🙂 No where did MS/Asobo tout MSFS 2024 as having a completely new engine of course, and as they said multiple times all the changes in total were big enough to warrant a new release, and it's clear to see why. That said, there are aspects of the sim that *have* been completely re-written, such as the atmospheric engine, the ground handling, etc. Also the whole thin client thing is a non-trivial architecture change I'd say. September 20, 20241 yr Author Well, 2024 has certainly turned XP72's opinion around. He's not a pilot but now he thinks 2024's flight model is great after consistently saying 2020's was inferior for years. Expect more of this since he hasn't been the only one. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.

I was confused because in games seeing a "Premium Deluxe" edition usually means its the most expensive and has everything but I noticed the Aviator Edition costs more and at first didn't figure it until now - that is has 30 extra planes. I need to look at that list of planes to see if the price is worth it.

September 20, 20241 yr In other words, if I want the same ATR I have, I'll have to buy the more expensive 2024 version? no thanks. At least, not at that price.
