Which is weird, considering Asobo have USAF liveries for the A10 and Super Hornet Huh - I was assuming that'd be another DC Designs job, or that the Destroyer freeware got picked up. In any case, I'm stoked for the C-17. Be nice to see how it stacks up against the A400 by iB.

I already own the ATR & An-225 separately, not really sure if I care enough about the others to justify the price premium myself. Most likely going to get Premium Deluxe, as there's several aircraft there I'm much more interested in. Thanks for this. I have premium deluxe and have been intending to get some of these with the 33% discount, but always put it off. So for me, I guess, that makes Aviator a No Brainer purchase. Might that be to allow PMDG provide those models? I don't think so - they've been pretty ruthless in making add-ons that step all over 3PD add-ons.

September 20, 20241 yr Just wanted to post this because I've noticed it's still a thing... "pop-in" still seems to exist in 2024, even at close range which is a bit disappointing. September 20, 20241 yr As always keep in mind that any of the extra aircraft in the higher tier editions can get fidelity improvements in ongoing update releases like we got with the 787, Citation, SR22, etc by Asobo/WT for MSFS 2020. So as MSFS 2024 matures the higher tier packages really start to show their bang for the buck. September 20, 20241 yr Interesting discussions with these dev groups who're either part of the Asobo core team or work in partnership with them, and to hear their perspectives. Given these partner devs already have had insider access to the MSFS 2024 SDK to build out their stuff, the SDK itself is getting some good real world testing and major kinks being worked out before it it's generally available for all devs. Edited September 20, 20241 yr by lwt1971 Len 1980s: Sublogic FS II on C64 ---> 1990s: Flight Unlimited I/II, MSFS 95/98 ---> 2000s/2010s: FS/X, P3D, XP ---> 2020+: MSFS Current system: i9 13900K, RTX 4090, 64GB DDR5 4800 RAM, 4TB NVMe SSD

I am wondering those like myself that have been using the x3d very well in MS2020 will now suffer because of the multi-thread optimization in MS2024? The x3d I don’t think does very well in that environment. Could be in for a rude awakening…. It seems that the X3D CPUs are the most useful for MSFS due to their fast cache. I’ve got the 7950XRD with the asymmetric chiplet configuration. Still, MSFS prefers the “cache” cores instead of the “frequency” cores. Hence, the 7800X3D is still probably one of the best CPUs for the sim. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

The ground textures look awful too, though that might be due to the settings. I really hope we're seeing an early beta build because, based on the previews, I’m starting to get nervous that the team might have overpromised.

September 20, 20241 yr I know this is very interesting to most but I'm going to disconnect from 2024, I'm not going to make the mistake of 2020. I will continue to enjoy my simulators and in a few months I will investigate if this is really worth it considering what I personally look for in a simulator, happy hype train to anyone who sticks around.
