September 20, 20241 yr I'm surprised to see 'Ideal' RAM at 64GB. In all my years of flying heavily modded MSFS, never seen it even use up 32GB. So either the engine is doing something differently or they are just creating a very, very wide 'buffer zone' for the most extreme scenarios. So as MSFS 2024 matures the higher tier packages really start to show their bang for the buck. Yeah, and after the Longitude got updated, a lot of people regretted not having gone with the higher versions because upgrading after initial purchase costs more. Well, they've finally made the sim capable of using all the CPU cores, which means many of us are going to be turning up our settings since that bottleneck should widen, which means more ram will be used. Or that's what I'd guess, anyway. Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light
September 20, 20241 yr Guys, don't be stingy. Grab Premium Deluxe, or higher. Remember it's not a game. It's a four year sim investment opportunity. http://youtube.com/c/Greazer

Especially since this is just their first early build, I think we'll have a much better experience at launch. As there should be, being the second iteration they've got no excuses to release a buggy mess this time around (not that the current sim was that bad on release, but it did have its problems). Having had time to learn with MSFS2020, then rewrite code to better suit their needs, coupled with a much larger Asobo team to flesh out issues with new features they should be on top of most aspects in time for release day. I do see some areas of concern that have carried over, but not knowing the settings used and the fact it's an alpha/beta build of course you'd expect to see bugs. I just hope they've eradicated the worst of them leftover from poor Quality Control in the current sim, old UI bugs should be a thing of the past seeing as the UI is of course changed, VR issues leftover from SU5 & 7 we won't know until we get to play, same with the dreaded 'shutdown bug'...! There will be issues though early on, i just hope the QC for Sim Updates has improved as at times (too many times) it was appalling with the current sim. There's no mention of what results these specs will produce and at what resolution which is particularly important. In what world is a GTX 970 equivelant to a 5700. Why is the jump for Intel from a 6800k to 10700k, two whole generations whilst amd is just 2600X to 2700X. 64GB is the most ridiculous of all. Whilst simultaneously not recommending any X3D chips. I really hope we get a updated spec sheet that makes sense with regards to PC components as well as defined what resolution and fps a defined spec would receive.
September 20, 20241 yr Already having a lot of the market place aircraft, i have opted for the premuim deluxe again. Looking forward to the launch already lol. Let's not assume the financial position of members of the community 🙂 everyone will buy what they can afford and Xbox game pass is also an option. Let's hope that the upgrade path to different editions is possible for those on the fence but are convinced later down the line.

September 20, 20241 yr i have seen my ram usage to up 25 GB in msfs2020, although i am using maxed sim, not flying heavies.
September 20, 20241 yr there is 5000 collectors or horders editions, not the aviators, which is just a software. Edited September 20, 20241 yr by tmholopa

Freeware modders will quite easily be able to build any 747-400 variant. Similar like the 787 variants based on the -10 avionics.
