I will definitely consider this once the new version is out. Looks promising.

  • It's superb.  Just done an approach into LEPA from EDDL. SIDS, STARS, vectoring, separation, perfectly executed by FSHud, three of us, separated with speed, the app running on my tablet, voice accents

I plan to get this after MSFS 2024 is out. Gotta save up for that first. Hearing all this positivity on v2 is heartening though.

With FSHUD 2 and BATC, for those wishing realistic traffic injection and control the long waiting is over.

Holy cow...! Just tried to get the FSHud v2 panel on my smartphone. My MSFS PC doesn't have wifi and is connected with an ethernet cable. My phone is on wifi. Both are in their own way connected to the same router. I had to scan the QR-code... and it worked instantly!!! How cool is that! The panel in my smartphone's browser seems to work even more responsive than the ingame panel! So... no more need for the UI/Panel in MSFS itself! Never thought this could work so easily! 🙂 And it works smooth and well, touch control, the map, everything! Very cool!

Saw a bit of a demo of FSHUD V2 on Youtube, this afternoon. I was kind of disappointed with the controller voices, BATC sounds much better in my opinion.

I did a test flight yesterday (EGLL to EICK), with traffic injection by FSLTL, 60 parked a/c and 20 active ones. Before, the performance would have been unplayable. Now, it was totally playable (with AutoFPS adjusting settings on the fly) even if not very high fps at EGLL.

The performance improvements definitely seem to be here, along with the voices (voice control worked fine I guess, although I had to "say again" a few times). The map feature is handy.

All in all it made FSHud come back to the fore, at least for me (after trying BATC and SI). It's nice to have competition, with a choice of products all having their strong points.

In what sense were you disappointed? I'm not a fan of the 'radio effect' on the voices so I tend to turn it down quite a lot - I know that in the real world radio transmissions can be difficult to hear, but in the comfort of my own home I just like them a bit cleaner. All in all I find the voices quite reasonable.

BATC may have better sounding voices and more too but they come at a cost... If you want to use the premium voices (specially with traffic) it'll cost you a fortune.

If you want to compare the new FSHud voices with BATC make sure to compare them with the basic voices. You can argue that those still sound better but 1. I don't like the fake BATC accents (sometimes making things impossible to understand and they sometimes sound as if they're from a corny cartoon) and 2. I don't like the Hollywood drama in a lot of the BATC voices. They often are way over the top. The co-pilot I finally settled for sounds like he is constantly doing an audition for a lighthearted comedy after drinking too much coffee. I personally (!) prefer the calm and neutral tone of the FSHud voices.

Also take note that more voices will be added to FSHud v2 and you can already add your own voices. Although I hardly hear repeating voices, I have to add: it's already way better than FSHud v1 and very diverse.

Finally: if you perhaps watched the video of Captain Piett (afaik there aren't any other v2 video's yet), take note that he slowed down the default speed of the speech (which is a great feature btw) making things sound a bit... ssslllloooowwww.

That's another great feature of FSHud! For instance I have my own voice (the co-pilot is me because I fly on my own) almost without radio effect. Really nice.

When it comes to options, features, possibilities, etc. FSHud really beats BATC in all possible ways. BATC pro's are the voices (if you like them and have the money) and perhaps terminology in certain places. But the rest... FSHud all the way for me right now.

The basic voices in BATC, which is all I have used, are much better than the voices in FS hud, which sound like a 20 year old ATC program.

take a look at Captain Piett  video pls

Beyond ATC is a total waste of time, an AYC that doesn't control all traffic is a total waste of time

I think I messed that up. My intention was to change something else and I might have inadvertently slowed down the voice rate. After this I reinstalled to get the latest build so I think voice speed is better in the 2nd video (default speed).

I hope that more regional accents gets added over time. So far there's only a few. But at least they're easy to understand, unlike some of the exotic BATC voices.

I think voice quality has improved in v2. But don't quote me on that, as it's been quite a while since I last used v1.

That's not even close to my experience with FHS v2 alpha.

FSHud v BATC is like driving a real car versus playing with a children's toy at the moment.  And the massive negative it had, the performance drop, is nowhere to be seen now.

Sure, if you want to hear slightly better voices (debatable), that route you into a mountain, another aircraft, give you incorrect heights and sharp turns onto short final, then BATC is the one for you.  I wasted so much money on that program, and they've just lost the race.

I made a flight with V1.3 and on the same day one with V2 and voices certainly have improved.

As always voice quality is highly subjective. Good thing with FSHud is you can tweak the voices with sliders for speed and radio noise effect. So far I settled with speed 125 and noise 50 for ATC and 70 for AI aircraft.
