Aerosoft A330 first looks and reviews

Featured Replies

I think the issue here, the expectations that Aerosoft has set over the past years over this release, this has created (IMO) a high expectations in the community, which has caused this backfire since it didn't meet those expectations.

  • Why are you trying to criticize people's opinions? It's worthless what you are trying to do.  It's the community who invests money in products and they are all potential customers. That's so

I'm actually rather surprised people had expectations to begin with.

With the delays, departures, and spotty information, it's obvious that this has been a troubled project. I've had zero expectations that this would be any better than this since 2023.

At some point, a company that has the responsibility of keeping employees employed has to cut its losses and do what it can to deliver something that at least fits a segment of the market.

yeah agreed, I am actually referring to a period before the "fiasco" of last year has started when M.Kok left the company, I recall that was that long thread in Aerosoft forums when he was posting a lot of updates about the state and the release anticipation.

But yeah, with MSFS 2024 and IniBuilds A330 which will come with it, defiantly I would have done the same to just release whatever we have in "git" and get some cash out of it (I don't think they will even make any profits, barely cash even that is a big if) since this project at this state, is basically a sinking ship.

They could have honestly making it transparent and communicate about this.

In my opinion they SHOULD have done this.

The release has pretty sure surprised a lot of people.

And even a customer who flies irregular shortly on Xbox or PC.....would like to see a landing gear working properly.....before landing.

It's a key function.....that shows the issues over af aerosoft. And this is just a small issue....compared to the whole project.

Yes, I agree that Aerosoft wanted to get back some cash from this project, even if they make a net loss on this A330 release.  It's never good to make a net loss on a project because if a company keeps making loss after loss after loss on every project, they will go bankrupt eventually.

Having said that, there is also the matter of reputation. By releasing the A330 like this, Aerosoft decided the release was worth whatever hit to their reputation they were going to get.  And their reputation can and will affect the sales of their future products, even if those future products are substantially better.

This is bold move by Aerosoft - If I am not mistaken wasn't there was a post somewhere where they publicly said they were going cancel A330 for MSFS & would rather concentrate on bringing this airliner into MSFS 2024. Nevertheless for 30 Euros with most features missing which are essential for long haul operation - I don't think I will be getting it. I do own their A330 in P3D and although still not perfect - I think they have done better job with it compared to MSFS one.

I think you will be told to go sit down in a corner of the cabin in one of the Aerosofts A330's "well modeled and textured" seats .. 😁 and quit complaining lol

My point is that companies are made of people. And the mockery and mudpiling in this thread isn't something I expect (or respect) from a community that is supposed to be made of mature people.

That 500k has been used as a grant to support a small company that gives work to a number of people. That's hardly a bad thing (or rare).

In which one of my posts I even implied I talk for them? I talk for myself and myself alone.

can we just be honest , its awful, truly awful and AS should be embarrassed as i expect they are . A sim company such as AS surely cant have released this thinking it was ok ?? you can put lipstick on a pig but its still a pig right ! when they released the 330 for P3D i was disappointed, but this really AS

I'm sorry, but what exactly are you saying? That we as a community and potential customers, should feel sorry for Aerosoft for mismanaging a project and getting some competition?

..

While it may be true, that Aerosoft has "seen the writing on the wall" and come to the conclusion, that "we're not going to sell this product, once FS2024 comes out..." that still - in my personal opinion - doesn't justify this release.

That's really it, it's a horribly mismanaged product by a company that lost their community/product manager in a large part, by his own admission, due to difficulty working with management.

They wouldn't be facing this degree of criticism if the addon had come out back when they were teasing it... 4 years ago? Even if it had come out 2 years ago we would have overlooked a lot of these issues!

Now Aerosoft is about to get smoked by iniBuilds and Microsoft. I don't have empathy for them, why would I, they're a company. They missed the boat, management messed up.

We've all been at companies that have made financial mistakes. I'm not understanding the 10+ page personal freakout by one user because of justified criticism lobbed at Aerosoft.

They should not have released at this time .. period.. The product is really not fit for purpose (for what it was marketed as) as yet and the resultant reviews and comments below the reviews speak for themselves.
