My assumption is the photogrammetry is turned down right now just like the grass, bushes, and other ground details compared to the preview videos we saw weeks ago. I can't imagine they won't turn it all back on for release. Probably ramping up the stress test for the data streaming.

Keep assuming lol don’t get your hopes up.

Do you have tobii or track ir? In 2020 I have "track IR" option turned on but instead I use tobii which behave exactly like track ir.

I hated Tobii Eye tracker.  I used it for a couple of months but went back to TrackIR.

Not exactly the same as TrackIR. When looking over the shoulder TrackIR behaves as it should, but Tobii Eye tracker moves the head in the wrong direction

Glad to see that but hope they have a way for it to turn on when IFR/MVFR conditions are present....they should probably be on in that screenshot given the WX.

I guess it's possible they don't turn on the biggest bragged-about feature so far by the developers (the procedural ground detail) and they leave the photogrammetry loading at a lower resolution than MSFS 2020.

I just doubt it.

I just keep in mind that all of that was active for the influencers brought out to the grand canyon, and seemed to be working alright then, so.....

I don't think fauna is enabled in this build, or I'm just having bad luck finding any

Havne't seen any either. There's a lot of stuff that was in the preview build that is disabled for this Alpha test.

EVERYTHING else in this release it being loosely and unfairly judged, I see no reason why the core engine basics shouldn't be also.

Wait so you agree the current comparisons are done unfairly and loosely and still want comparisons? What purpose would it serve? it's not representative of the final release much less using all the addons you usually would.

2nd boot up this morning.  Loaded really fast compared to yesterday.  It seems to cache itself (if that is the correct term) every time its booted and runs better.  Noticed even better performance this morning and things looked a little better.  Introduced live weather and the clouds are improved as is the lighting.  In fog its kind of dark and menacing instead of bright and optimistic feeling if that makes any sense?

No issues during shut down.  Yesterday it kind of crashed on shut down but not today!

I wish they extended the test out 1 week.  I have a feeling for those that have reported issues or dissatisfaction today will likely be having less issues and be much happier in a week from now.

I know what you mean! I set tobii up to follow my head instead of eyes just like track Ir. The reason I can't use track ir is that I have windows behind my back. WIth residual light tobii doesn't match better work than Track IR

All the new ground procedural details seems to be there in this tech alpha from the videos/screenshots I'm seeing (don't have the alpha myself).

This streamer was droning all over the world looking at different terrains, geographies, biomes, etc.. one example here when he goes to a tropical area with beaches/islands/mangroves (looking thru shallow water to see the 3D sandy surface beneath seems really well done):
