MSFS 2024 Update - 1.1.9.0

Apparently not, like it is "streamed" and there is no option to turn it off.

I sure hope there's a way to disable that.

Are we all sure about this -- I mean the Marketplace is still disabled for FS2024 users, right?  So how would anyone know if you can't disable MP addons?

It's been 4 years!

It was released Tuesday so three days is accurate.

I am as disappointed as everyone concerning the poor launch, but it is rather silly to say they have learnt nothing.

Have they stated there are no more updates to 2020?  Do you really want 2020 to last indefinitely?  Just how long into the future do you want them to wait before releasing a new product with improved functionality?

I personally won't have the time because I'll be too busy flying the next episode in the long running Microsoft Flight simulator franchise. You know, the 4,000 percent terrain resolution update, the amazing new flight dynamics, improved clouds, improved lighting etc.

Yea, this is the question, if when it is fully enabled -- which it really should have been at the start -- it is possible to disable scenery. Right now I can see them -- they along with all the world updates, etc, are visible in my library but there is no option to install or disable them.

I've had a Steam game in my Wishlist for two and a half years, yet I am not deluded enough to expect perfection on release.

Nobody demanded a new version. It was their unilateral choice to break their promise of indefinite updates to v2020, preferring to release an un-asked for new version for no other reason than $$$.

We are a forgiving bunch: after all, it's just a game. But even so, for one of the world's largest corporations to have released something as half-baked as this is quite a serious matter potentially. In fact I doubt whether it is lawful, though of course it is unlikely that anyone will test the point.

And I tossed $200 down for an incomplete product. And quite frankly, these inbuilds aircraft are toys at best.

I'm delighted that you're pleased with it but overwhelmingly the experience has been shockingly poor. The quality of the product - riddled with bugs and performance issues, unaccompanied by clear or any instructions- demonstrates utter contempt for the consumer.

You ask sarcastically what laws have been broken. In the UK, the consumer laws have undoubtedly been engaged and breached by the release of a product that is not fit for purpose and departs materially from its advertised qualities. The sale contains a promise of performance NOW, not "eventually and in a timeframe of our own choosing".

But more than this: it appears that there is no reasonable basis on which a reasonable person in the position of the producer (ie, Microsoft) could have believed that the product would perform as advertised. That smacks of recklessness as to the truth of the advertising - which is a gateway to a criminal charge of fraud.

You asked, so I answered.

Ouch! I'd seen this stuff on the "My Library" screen earlier today, and was assuming I could just select a "streamed" item and uninstall/remove it. but having seen this I just turned my simpc back on and tried that and yes, it seems you can select stuff but can't change it's condition.

If this isn't just a bug and this is deliberate it's a pretty big bad move. Not being able to remove addons? What's that about. I may have to force myself to visit the official forum tomorrow and investigate/file a bug report.

On my 2020 system all my marketplace purchases are physically removed from the official folder and managed via the Addons Linker, but that's not going to work here unless I can get them "unstreamed"

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Please don't file a new bug report, there's at least 3-4 of them already for the issue spread across the Misc and Scenery bug threads.  Just add to one and upvote them all.

Yeah but are the loading movie scenes now frame rate capped also?

Exactly. It's no answer to say "it will work eventually": you didn't pay for a promise of eventual performance in a timeframe of someone else's choosing (if ever): you paid for performance from the very start!

Don't suppose you have a link? I've just been over there and as usual I gave up trying to find anything after a few minutes. I don't get on with the formatting and layout of their forums.

Actually I do now, the community manager finally took notice of one of the bug reports so this is the thread to use and upvote now.  Also, sounds like they are not planning to "fix" it until the marketplace is online.  That's fine, guess I'll save my money until then lol.

Cannot unselect “streamed” packages in my library - Bug Reporting Hub / Miscellaneous - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums

2024 loaded quickly and ran fine.  Shut it down, moved six airports (V Bazillio San Diego stuff) and two Airplanes (Bagalou C-172 AoA and SWS Vans 14) into the community folder.

Loading sim got to 92% in 3-minutes and after another 20-minutes had only gotten to 97%.   Long periods where Flightsim.exe showed over 80% CPU (on an 8-processor 5 GHz machine), less than 1 Kbs and no disk activity of any kind.

Restarted to get the update but same result trying to load those 8-addons.

Shut down sim, emptied Community and was up and flying within 4 minutes of starting the sim.
