November 28, 20241 yr Sorry, if posted elsewhere but could not find any reference hereto and found this is helpful in anticipation of the coming patches https://www.flightsimulator.com/microsoft-flight-simulator-2024-november-27-update/ Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 November 27 Update Posted by: Microsoft Flight Simulator Team We are happy to report that the issues regarding access and streaming have been resolved. The distribution layer capacity has been increased to handle the immense interest in the simulator and the reliability is now above 99.999%. Our servers and services are also all performing as expected. We successfully deployed hotfix 1 last Friday, Nov 22nd, which increased stability and addressed several experience issues. We are currently preparing another patch for the week of Dec 2nd with further stability improvements and other fixes. Subsequently, we are planning on providing a third, larger patch during the week of Dec 9th. We have recently ported much of the marketplace content from Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS 2020) to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (MSFS 2024). Recent reports from the community show that some 3rd party add-ons are causing significant issues, including preventing some users from entering the simulator. Until we identify which content is causing these issues, we will temporarily deactivate all MSFS 2020 non-aircraft content from MSFS 2024. As part of the patch planned for the week of Dec 9th, we will add the ability for users to disable/enable content on their own. We will also add a safe boot option to deactivate 3rd party content in case of a crash when booting up the simulator. Next week, we will hold our regular Dev Q&A stream where we will provide further updates and answer community questions. We will keep our FAQ updated with the latest findings. November 28, 20241 yr This confirms why people had different experiences in 2024 based on their marketplace purchases for 2020. It sounds like they were too optimistic about 2020 add-on compatibility with 2024 and now they have poor reviews and refunds. Good news about the updates. November 28, 20241 yr The sim currently for me has improved stability a lot since launch. Today i flew the FBW A380 (Again no stuttering or massive drop of fps) From KJFK-EGLL without issue at all. I even tried out adjusting the sim rate back and fore, and it performed perfectly. Still the bugs in various default 2024 aircraft, but hopefully a few are sorted before the festival period. November 28, 20241 yr Mine is stable. But it’s very clear just by taking a quick scroll through here and the official forums that there are still plenty of people who aren’t. Saying it’s 99.9999% solved seems a bit insulting. Even with it being stable for me, with decent enough performance…there are just a few too many bugs, especially in VR for it to be enjoyable right now. I’m done beating my head against the wall for now. Blue skies ahead in 2020.

I think he is saying only that server reliability is now nearly 100% so the majority of people now having problems are caused by bugs in the simulator and in add-on scenery that is not actually compatible and causing issues. I like the platform and it has potential but I also have to say this was a pretty poor launch and continues to be quite rough. 10 minutes ago, Happytfe said: All that fixes should have been done before selling us the product. I agree. It seems they did not really test the addons before assuming backward compatibility, so we will need to wait three weeks without adding any thing purchased on the Marketplace. This pretty much means I will no longer use the Marketplace to purchase things, nor Contrail that has also prevented me from downloading my 2020 scenery if I do not have 2020 installed. Had I bought those sceneries externally I could have tried to install them one by one and determined if I could use them or not. MSFS 2024. November 28, 20241 yr Even though Asobo realized a lot of mistakes were made and now offering fixes to remedy, some people still demand perfection. This was a worldwide release over Mutiple PC and Xbox builds. Give them a chance to rectify things and move on with your perfect lives. If you don't want to use 2024 or wanted refund that's great for you. 2020 still works fine, but I'm in for the long haul with 2024 and very excited about the future of 2024. And will continue to defend and support 2024 as it progresses in the future until hopefully, we'll get a release of FS2028? I would like to see some of you release a bug free piece of software and support it. November 28, 20241 yr Do you know if they plan to be able to choose whether we want a plane to be (broadcast) streamed or not? Because today their A321 A330 are a disaster on my PC impossible to make a flight... But 0 problem with the FENIX A320 ... It would be good if we had the choice of wanting or not which plane / scene to be installed "locally on our PC" I am sure that it helps enormously with stability and performance ...

Had I bought those sceneries externally I could have tried to install them one by one and determined if I could use them or not. There is no chance that they did not know about these issues. That is the reason why the marketplace was not fully available from the start. I think that developers will think twice selling over the marketplace now. Being forced to adapt for free because Asobo wanted to cash inn on a new sim instead of making (meaningful) updates and promised compatibility for marketplace products without providing a framework for developers prior to release - that might raise some eyebrows. And maybe doing it all in 2028 again? And we're not even talking adding 2024 functionality - standard Asobo planes are not working as intended... I think future MSFS projects will be evaluated differently, especially with long development times.
