MSFS 2020 Connection lost and CTD

Featured Replies

On a side note, I decided to use the ground services that are available with the PMDG 737-600 for the first time today. It was fun watching the relevant equipment arrive (all requested from the FMS of course....none of that posh boy EFB/UFT nonsense) The drivers of said vehicles exhibited absolutely zero situational awareness as they proceeded to reverse through a shed and a light pole respectively! This was Stand 70 at ESGG Gothenburg Landvetter.

Couldn't be about FS 2020, from me - it's long uninstalled ... Past life... almost can't recall using it...

If so, better go flying 2024 and be happy.

I think that was the idea Asobo tried.

Old news, it has been fixed since last evening.

No kidding. Asobo and Microsoft’s lawyers are going to have a new class action lawsuit to prepare for. Because what they sold us with their marketing was not what we are seeing on our computers.

I would venture a guess and say they don't care about us serious simmers that spend hours every day on their servers. They want the quick cash from Christmas/Birthday sales where the kiddies get bored and drop 2024 after a week of play. They get the initial purchase and they don't have to worry about server load with these types of sales.

I get stuck at installation manager

Stick with it - it is taking at least 5 mins to get through this section of the loading.  Until this candy-floss 2024 came along it was (for me) 45 sec at most.  MS and ASOBO are lying crooks - so much for 'backward' compatibility (or forward, depending upon how you look at) of the 2 versions.  I'm amazed that developers haven't launched a law suit for breach of promise.

Thanks.  I was back to normal OPS after about 4 or 5 hours yesterday.  FS2024 hasn't really made anyone happy.  They screwed the FS2020 crowd and FS2024 is beta.

So what is interesting is Jorg just claimed the MSFS server are at 5 9's availability.  This single outage is almost all of the allowed downtime for the entire year to actually maintain 5 9's...

Those of you talking about lawsuits are absolutely blowing nonsense out of your nonsense holes LOL...  This was a single 5 hour outage to which it looks all is resolved and my sim loaded and flew as if nothing happened today.  If you bought 24 and are unhappy you get a refund.  What exactly are people opening a lawsuit about?  What utter nonsense.

I had a great flight today from BOS to SRQ on the Fenix.  Absolute pleasure the entire way.  2020 had a short little update that went easily and had no issues.

Im located in the Northeast of the United States so I’m assuming the servers are fixed.

I still am unable to fly -still CTD on every attempt.

Event viewer states in most cases:

Faulting application name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 1.38.2.0
Faulting module name: CoherentGTJS.dll, version: 0.0.0.0

Maybe 🤔 this is a friendly reminder that MSFS 2020 is also stream dependent and all those asking for all assets to be downloaded to hard drives in 2024 are barking up the wrong tree…

Well...

I may have discovered one issue - I was in Offline mode.

Apparently that little update reset the Options so that even though everything except Multiplayer was set to On it was all greyed out and I was set to Offline.  The only way I could get an Online status indicator was to enable Multiplayer.  Once Multiplayer was active all Data settings went live and I received an Online indication.

A quick test showed I could now select an aircraft and spawn successfully at an airport.  It's too late today - I'll see if I can get in the air tomorrow.
