A lot of annoying bugs, yes! 'Game breaking', no. As you promised to pay the team a visit I'm confident all will be good in the and. Don't forget your pitchfork, lol.

So the EFB not working & mouse not working in VR are not game breaking issues....hahahaha good one

To you they are game breaking, to me they are not. For you and others I hope this gets fixed soon, because I also would be very annoyed if I used VR.

Maybe people are just expressing an opinion

As am I.  Nobody who is complaining is wrong, but there are many different directions these opinions are going.

Some are quite calm and voice what is annoying them. Some actually are throwing their toys out the pram.

FSX could technically do walk around, it’s just a view from an object that can move.  P3D enhanced on the FSX SDK and made walk-arounds work very well (primarily used for the Military aspect of P3D) … this was almost a decade ago, so “walk-arounds” in MSFS 2024 isn’t exactly “new”.

I like walk-arounds and ability to traverse a location on foot (or car/vehicle).  BUT, I get where “walk-arounds” would be a much lower priority vs. other major issues and missing features that should get development resource priority.

Walk-arounds in MSFS 2024 were implemented because it was easy to implement and other platforms had that capability many years ago … but I still would rather they NOT spend time/resources on walk-arounds when there are so many other critical issues and needed features.

EDIT: what I do find interesting is that some here that have a lot of tolerance for MSFS issues … but in reviewing their posts relating to P3D they had zero tolerance of issues.

I want to emphasize though, that when people get so angry and they call the walk-around "gamey," that's just nonsense.

But it is gamey (btw, not an actual word) … how about “game like” rather than “simulation like”.  Not sure how those words present themselves as “so angry”?  You seem very sensitive to any sort of negative comments towards MSFS, why?

But as pointed out, walking around but not actually being able to interact with anything does seem entirely pointless.  If there were a purpose then it would probably qualify on the “simulation” side, but there is no interaction/purpose so it falls on the “game” side … actually not even “game” since most games will have some sort of interaction with their environment, MSFS 2024 does not.

This is false. Do you even own MSFS 2024? And if you own MSFS 2024, did you do the walk-around properly?

You can interact with the plane during the walk-around. You can check the oil. You can move the flaps and check them. The checklist is integrated with the walk-around and for the part of the checklist that is on the external portion of the plane, if you click on a checklist item because you don't know where that part is, it will highlight the location on the plane of where that part is so that you know what to check. I did this with the 172.

You come off as a little word not allowed in your statement - if you don't own MSFS 2024 and you are saying this, maybe you should buy MSFS 2024 and find out. If you own MSFS 2024, then try out the integration of the checklist and walk-around before you come here to comment on it.

Well no, it can be played without VR so not 'game breaking' but 'vr breaking'.

Fingers crossed next week's patch will fix it.

The walking mode does allow interaction with aircraft.  Many pilots need to walk around the aircraft and remove and check items before flight.  I consider that a useful and immersive addition to MSFS2024.

No, that is not the case.  I was as frustrated as everyone else over the first couple of days.

The difference is one can concentrate on the positives or throw a tantrum.

I am sure MS/Asobo will work diligently on the initial bugs. In the meantime I will enjoy what we currently have, and look forward to the improvements.

I am really thrilled for you.

Even the 'Asobo apologists' as MarcG has called, in a derogatory way, everyone trying to look at the positive aspects of this release (I concur there are not as many as I would have hoped, to put it mildly) are very likely also not accepting the sim would remain in the state it is in now,

Absolutely, lot of critics thinking anyone who says ‘it’s great’ means ‘everything’s great and nothing needs fixing’. No, thats not what we said…

Some are actually being quite vicious. We’ve seen calls for people to be fired, that they have no right to be proud of their work, 2024 has killed the franchise, it should be pulled, if you’re enjoying the sim you’re an apologist, a bootlicker, a kook-aid drinker, one of the first comments on today’s devstream thread was ‘Hate them all’ etc. etc.

Frustrations and complaints I get, but wow, there are some very disproportionate outbursts flying around.

I play exclusivly in VR and sure those bugs are annoying, but I can workaround them, hence not game breaking for me. In 2020 we didnt have a EFB, so not having it for now in 2024 doesnt really bother me that much either… I just plan ahead and set it up before entering VR, and the mouse bug can be solved with a couple of presses on the escape key…
