Hi,

Must be an option!

Greetings

I think most people in this thread agree it should be an option. This is something we can bring up in the live Twitch Q&A dev stream today.

You found the Aeroflot career mode ?

Yes it really is annoying that Microsoft is investing in the flight simulator business again and rebuilds the codebase after just 4 years, trying to improve the simulation in aspects that cannot be done in patches to MSFS 2020. It would be better if they kept out of our hobby as they did for over a decade and let us few that really appreciate this continue in peace  and quiet with X-plane, P3D (based on their old code), some decent Russian mil-sims and open source initiatives based on Falcon 4...

EDIT: And it really is frustrating that they have said that they will continue to support FS 2020 for the ones that do not want to change over to FS 2024 yet while they iron out the bugs. It gets super confusing.

Some people are fine accepting whatever these guys give them, and they feel we should all just be thankful and blessed that Microsoft decided to focus on flight simming again. And then there’s another group who expect the largest software company in the world to pretend they actually know what they are doing.

No commercial pilot is removing engine covers before flight LOL.  Nor are they removing the chocks

But all other pilots do. Where I work (EHTW) they even have a small ladder in the luggage compartment to help them remove engine covers themselves when the plane is parked overnight. That's with a large FA7X. The crew might even remove chocks if they feel like it. So I think it definitely should be an option in the sim; I hope the team will make it like that.

Actually, as I was typing that I was thinking of the Air Alaska and Everets Air Cargo guys on the ramp doing it all themselves in -40 LOL

Agreed, optional would be great but I would also like the idea of it being specific to what pilots would be looking for on those airframes...  Then it's a real learning experience as well.

I actually have no issues starting outside the cockpit.  The first thing I do when I set up a flight is "walk" onto the plane via the jetway because I'm a total geek and loser like that LOL

Even the 'Asobo apologists' as MarcG has called, in a derogatory way, everyone trying to look at the positive aspects of this release (I concur there are not as many as I would have hoped, to put it mildly) are very likely also not accepting the sim would remain in the state it is in now, like me. That's a silly assumption. Everybody here wants a much better product than what was released two weeks ago. But I am indeed grateful for the fact Microsoft has picked up the development of Flight Simulator again. I would have gotten out of the hobby without that.

Expecting a large company to deliver perfection, or at least a product with viewer bugs (understatement again), is naïve. For those who did it would have been better to wait, look from the sideline how the sim really is and how it develops before getting it. You, of all people, knew how flawed this sim would be and made quite a fuzz, yet here you are ranting on about it because you purchased it anyway, lol.

Like others I had a view satisfying flights in the new sim, but boy, Asobo better fix a bug here and there (understatement) before I see this as a full grown successor to MSFS 2020. They'll get there, I'm convinced. Let's see what they have to say today. I bet there will be some apologizing involved.

How do you check what is streamed?

Under enabled on the left side ALL WU shows up including cityies but

There is a little checkbox on the left to every item but cant see what to do with it?

Thanks Michael Moe

I believe there is a patch coming out on the 9th that activates the store and gives us back control of our FS2020 store bought airports. I have manually pasted a number of 3rd party airports directly from community to community folder and all so far all seem to work fine.

No, that is not the case.  I was as frustrated as everyone else over the first couple of days.

The difference is one can concentrate on the positives or throw a tantrum.

I am sure MS/Asobo will work diligently on the initial bugs. In the meantime I will enjoy what we currently have, and look forward to the improvements.

Maybe people are just expressing an opinion that differs from yours but to a certain group of individuals here those who are unhappy and vocalize it are either whiners, throwing their toys out of the pram, throwing tantrums, have the wrong expectations and the issue is entirely with them or are just wrong etc etc etc.

So by your logic anyone not concentrating on the positives or those having genuine issues which you only have to go to the official forum to see are merely "throwing a tantrum"

The biggest reason for separate 2020 and 2024 forums has nothing to do with the sims themselves and everything to do with the simmers...  😉

A lot of annoying bugs, yes! 'Game breaking', no. As you promised to pay the team a visit I'm confident all will be good in the and. Don't forget your pitchfork, lol.
