Traffic Airport Quality and Air Traffic both set to off. They are located under General/Global Rendering Quality. Those are the only settings available in the patch 3 UI.

Oh excellent thanks

  • I love the progress. Keep in mind it's only half a year old. They've come a long way since the beginning

  • I can vouch for the BATC traffic, it's nice. It can use FSLTL, AIG and FSTraffic models if you have any of them installed.

Yes, it all has pros and cons. At the same time - if you're at an airport scenery that does not reflect real life (try KORD and report back) you will see aircraft taxi in the grass where taxiways have

Correct

So far it's really good.

The one thing I missed is how to add citation to ATC. Is there a way to do it?

Do you mean see an AI Citation jet?  Or I'm not sure.

Citation 910GF, instead of N910GF.

My 1st flight was delightful.

BTW, I set the traffic sliders to 7 with FSLTL and there was plenty of AI and ATC chatter.

Oh I'm not sure.  I think they just call you by the country prefix.

I've bought the app day 1 it's come a long way but for IFR flight in a small plane the quality really varies.

I'm going to have to try an ICAO (American) at the Simbrief fp just to see if it addresses me as American 910GF.

I had some time to do a few flights with the Traffic injection and my verdict is:

Very much work in progress but a good start.

Performance is great, even at maximum (with AIG models that is)

What is not so great is that Enroute traffic and ATC talk to each other as if they were approach instead of Upper Airspace. You constantly hear final approach clearances, traffic being asked to switch to tower or checking in at 800ft. This not only clutters up frequency, it will drain your premium voice character models in no time.

Also as of now there is no seperation. So if there are conflicts, ATC will not vector you away and you will run right into the RA.

But looking at the roadmap this will probably not come until Traffic 2.0.

Do you still see boats and airport ground traffic with this setting? I don't see them.

So far my flights have been enjoyable. I look forward to more flights with BATC. I'm very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it for MSFS 2020.

Yes, but it does not get lost like scripted ATC, like stops working. It is much smarter.

And it is just the beginning of AI, there is no future for scripted ATC. I don't want to be rude but if you are looking honestly at it then scripted ATC will be something of the past. Because who still wants to develop a scripted program with all of the modern solutions?

And in a year AI probably will be twice as smart as it already is.....

do you know that ai atc just a scripted atc but with more data you can do the same with batc or fshud if you implement more scenarios without need spend more energy and money, just need time to develop the addon to bring more features once the basic features are working fine

When you make a change in traffic levels, are those reflected immediately or do you have to reset BATC or anything?  I had very little enroute traffic last night, flying in a part of eastern Canada that should have had a parade of Europe bound flights.  I’m wondering if my turning the enroute traffic up to 10 wasn’t being reflected.

I also noted upon landing in YHZ that the AI traffic on the ground was parked mostly anywhere other than the terminal, which hasn’t been an issue for me with FSLTL traffic, so I’m guessing it’s BATC that assigns parking?

Uh that's very weird. This should not happen. Do you use MSFS2024? It has a bug where center and tower frequencies are often the same.
I suggest posting your logs on the Discord server, because that's the first time I've head of that bug.

How about birds, so you can avoid a bird strike. 😉
