Again I'm hoping the best for 2024 but Asobo needs release community Beta's for us the play with and report back on to turn this ship around.  I can't say this enough which is what we did with 2020 or the complaints will get louder and louder.  It's not the time to put our heads in the sand with blind support when this could hurt the hobby.

They said they will starting with SU1.

They stopped doing them in 2020 as well. SU15 had a beta, but the AAU3 update did not. That one also had a ton of problems.

I've been using MSFS 2024 since day one.

Except for streaming issues on day one, almost everything has been smooth sailing since then. Yes, several default planes will require a few patches, but I've even managed a few successful flights in the Carenado PC-24.

These are not click bate vids. Those people do have issues like so many others.

And MS/Asobo acknowladged that the sim in its current state has a lot of issues. That some succeed in making flights is fine for them but the idea is that everyone can enjoy the sim.

Well....

For those like me who has things running well, the sim is outstanding. I just finished a full APL2 schedule in Alaska, the snow, the ice, so much more realistic. All those old eyesores are gone.

The sim is so much more fluid, I barely if ever get a stutter. So much more immersive.

Absolutely in love with it.

Will I ever use 2020 again?

If 2024 goes down for whatever reason, I just hit the button beside it.

Since I started with SubLogic Flight Simulator back in the early 80's (THANK YOU Bruce Artwick for starting us all down this glorious path!!) the Flight Simulator franchise has been both a constant joy and constant challenge.  Most every release has brought something new and impressive for it's time while also pushing the limits of our systems, peripherals and patience.  This release does all of that in spades and since it's really something to be expected, it's no reason for me to give up on it.   I've learned to embrace change and spend the time needed to adapt as needed and enjoy my hobby.  In those rare bleak periods where it wasn't worth it, I took a break and always came back to the hobby for the better.

That being said it's understandable that there are factions of the flight sim community that are not going to be able to adapt well since MSFS 2024 by design does not bring much to the table for them.  If low and slow flying, stick and rudder skills and rotary wing flight take a backseat to heavy iron, having correct and authentic air traffic and ATC procedures, it's no surprise that this current version in it's raw form doesn't stand up to the previous versions with targeted addons to provide those very things.

In the meantime as opposed to the negativity which seems to be fashionable these days more than actually called for in my own experience, I'll roll up my sleeves and dive into the latest SDK changes to adapt and do what I can with my modest skill set to join the ranks of other freeware content creators who celebrate and share in this great hobby with confidence that, as always with these rough spots, "this too shall pass".

You say that about every video you don't agree with, seems you still don't understand what the word 'clickbait' actually means.

Those are click bait vids. People are looking for someone to jump onboard with them to complain. 2024 is working great for me lying low and slow or heavy iron from airport to airport. Asobo has addressed some major issues and will continue in the future. They even asked folks to uninstall 2024 and reinstall to make sure you get correct files. Sure lets create click bait videos and trash 2024 because something isn't working to your standards. I personally have had no issues with 2024 other than some quiets here and there, but majority of users are enjoying the new sim without all the hate and ranting. Maybe your platform is the problem and not the sim. just because you went out and purchased the most expensive vid card and proc and can't run the sim could just be your problem setting up and tweaking your and platform.

So you call them click bait vids because you don’t have major issues ? …. Mmmm

That is weird as MS/Asobo themselves have stated that there are a lot of issues. They claimed that they have fixed many issues and they did, but also that are still a lot of issues that need to be fixed and features to be added.

My conclusion is that the vast majority are having issues, they are aware of it and they are doing their best to fix them.

So my conclusion is different from yours

Those vids show the issues …And that is a good thing. The more issues are being put on the table the greater the change that they will be fixed.

We all want MSFS 2024 to succeed …

Completed another fairly solid flight with the Pilatus PC-24. It's great fun getting to know the (as yet not entirely complete) Honeywell Avionics. The CareNOdo plane - well, that's another matter.

Smooth, no stutter, framerates never dropped below 40 (flying from addon Madrid to addon Ibiza).

MSFS 2024 is a (sometimes buggy) winner. I'm enjoying it immensely.

I let others stew in their negativity.😆

This poll and steam are just two sources.  Now user Youtube reviews are coming out showing first hand the good and bad of 2024.

based on you having extensively tested MSFS 2024?

This thread also has "Should I stay or should I go now" stuck in my head. 🙂

I agree!

Currently sightseeing in the Fenix A319 down under (yeah I know, sightseeing in an airliner, how silly!)- having a blast.

It's not that I haven't had issues though - I most certainly have! Trying to figure out the controls setup was a frustrating, migraine-inducing task!

Also - every now and then the default cockpit view in all aircraft breaks. At first I was at a loss as to how to solve the issue. I've reinstalled the sim at least twice because of this (which luckily only took about 30mins due to the thin client).

But overall, the issues have been few and far between. It could be due to how I use the sim though. I only use free flight and only fly a few of the default aircraft.

I have to say, though, that I suspect some of the negativity comes from users who just jump on the negativity bandwagon without having tried the sim even once.

You'll find that some of these aircraft have a plethora of issues. Stick with the ones that make ya happy and it's a pleasant experience.
