January 24, 20251 yr Wait, you mean there's more fixes than what was shown in the bug fix snapshot? That crazyyyyyy. Also can we all appreciate how hassle free updating 2024 is? 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.
January 24, 20251 yr I'm glad to hear the rain on the windshield is fixed. Was disappointed I didn't see all that rain like in the trailer that plays when the sim loads. Even saw a video of xplane where the rain looked better.
January 24, 20251 yr I’ve got scenery conflicts where there were none before - doubled up runway textures, doubled taxiway center lines, etc. Seems to be any scenery that I’ve dragged into the community folder…even if I disable the custom scenery in the marketplace/library. Anyone else? Conflict still exists even when I move/delete the scenery from the community folder entirely. Weird Edited January 24, 20251 yr by KAS
January 24, 20251 yr There are some good fixes I've noticed so far: Game breaking dim avionics from 2020 addons are fixed! RAIN is working again! Live weather is finally fixed if the user changes time of day! I think this was a requested change - I don't care either way. But they did listen! Basic Dynamic Registration IS working. However there is still no panel.noreg (meaning if I don't want to see the dynamic reg on my paint I can't disable it), so you have dynamic overlapping hand painted. I also noticed a weird issue on my PC24 paint... one side dynamic reg is working and the other is gone lol (my fps counter was up because imo the SU1 patch introduces a bit less smoothness when panning. Im running max settings here incl TLOD 400 so the RAM usage and VRAM is just crazy. Let's hope VRAM gets optimized for SU2 like Asobo says in their timeline! Unfortunately the extremely over aggressive LOD issues still are present, along with the CJ4 flickering exterior. I guess steps in the right direction but if this is all - it should be a LOT more fixes. Oh some people are saying the ini CTD is fixed. I never use those boring airliners but if so that's excellent news. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

Weird Ill have to check that maybe remove from community folder as you stated and reboot pc Rich Sennett
January 24, 20251 yr I ve got scenery bleedthrough. There is a bug report on flightsimulator.com. I have just had a few amazing flights with SU1. The textures, clouds, rain all look fantastic. I should have realised your view would be different. Weird I just loaded into FT KBOS no issues - but now I cant get it to rain or snow 😞 maybe a reboot is in order - weird it was working - well the rain I didn't try snow Rich Sennett
January 24, 20251 yr have to remember to manually re-update DLSS 4 to version 310.1.0.0 after MSFS Beta 1.3.7.0 since the 2024 Beta reverts DLSS back again to the outdated version 3.7.20.0 AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler. 60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking. very nice.
January 24, 20251 yr Just posting what I posted on MSFS Forums: I got rain to work but its not automatic you have to pull up low level cloud layer to be large And top layer pull down on that and play with it - you can get rain looks like presets may need tweaking - great update looks like a different sim now - good things coming I have weather presets payware and they didnt work either - prob just config file discrepancies - no big deal all work out in the end looking good Asobo thanks much looks very nice Rich Sennett

That said, I think it's time to start the migration process. I've never seen the ground so sharp before in any sim.....even the PG is outstanding. THIS is what they wanted to release it as....there are still plenty of bugs, but by and large, this is so much better. It performs amazingly as well. January 24, 20251 yr VR performance is better now, at least on my first flight. Tracking is more solid, fps is increased, no pauses or clicks in the noise. I think it's because performance in general has been improved, not any VR tweaks by Asobo. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. January 24, 20251 yr First impressions: FPS is much improved even with autofps not working with this build yet. Tried the newest DLSS version and it is smooth with minimal ghosting (still noticeable though). Overall good so far
January 24, 20251 yr Wondering if I am having massive placebo effect.... I've been a bit unhappy with non-PG buildings in the new sim. They were all-to-often off center from the underlying ortho footprint, and the buildings themselves seemed bland and low-budget... I started wondering if the split with Blackshark had proven catastrophic. Now, it's gorgeous. (And the orthos seem razor-sharp) Am I imagining things?
