I find some new things are superb, like much shorter loading times, the new world map, setting up flights, the new environmental lighting, ground textures in general etc. There is quite a lot to like about it, and I am definitely getting enjoyment out of it. You will just need a bit of patience at the start though.... I never have two versions of the same simulator installed at the same time. When (if) I decide to move to MSFS 2024, it will be because I think that it will increase my enjoyment of the flight simulation experience. I have no interest in half measures where some things will work and others will not. February 7, 20251 yr I thought it was a good live stream, Jorg did seem to make more of an effort to slow things down a bit so they could address some of the community. February 7, 20251 yr From listening to the livestream I get a strong impression that the team don't often look at this forum or the official one and I don't think they are in any way obligated to do so, they will largely rely on a third party (presumably these community looking employees mentioned). They will be an extra filter between what is said by the community and the guys up front, bias and plain old misinterpretation will come into play. Its quite normal practice in Industry I completely get why it has to be this way, its a business not a public service. The problem is some users then get the impression from the livestream of direct interaction with the devs that will inevitably deliver results, this has some (not much) validity but really its mainly a PR exercise.

The Community Managers work for Microsoft and are a part of the MSFS team. They are not a third party. From my understanding, the developers do look at the official MSFS forums, especially the SU Beta forum, the bug reporting forum, and the Wishlist forum, but they may not respond there (they let the Community Managers respond there). Matt Nischan from Working Title looks at this forum and I have seen other Working Title members reply on Reddit. But for the Asobo employees, I don't think I see them reply in the forums. 20 minutes ago, Rusty Spanner said: The problem is some users then get the impression from the livestream of direct interaction with the devs that will inevitably deliver results, this has some (not much) validity but really its mainly a PR exercise. Actually, they do deliver results, just maybe not in the time expected. They delivered a lot of results in the 4 years of MSFS 2020. There were a few features, such as revamped ground handling, revamped water physics, cirrus clouds, etc, that were brought up in the past Twitch Q&As but were not fully implemented in MSFS 2020. But they were implemented in MSFS 2024. So like I said, they do deliver results based on their past record, but just not in the time expected (I know this because I nagged them constantly at the Twitch Q&A about when they would complete the ground handling rewrite for MSFS 2020, and it was finally completed for MSFS 2024). Hi Rusty Spanner, Our team does our best to read every post both on the official forums and also in other locations where people are discussing MSFS, such as Reddit, Discord, Steam forums, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Threads, Instagram, TikTok...and yes, these forums too. You won't see us responding here very often as we generally communicate through our official channels, but we are here reading the posts from this community and sharing all your feedback with the dev team. Thanks, SeedyL Microsoft Flight Simulator Community Manager

Thanks, SeedyL Microsoft Flight Simulator Community Manager Hey Seedy, thanks for coming Avsim to engage with us. From the Twitch Q&A a few days ago, Martial seemed to think that all default planes in MSFS 2024 can be modded by the community. But that is not true. Only the planes in the Standard Version of MSFS 2024 can be modded because they were unencrypted recently in one of the hotfix patches back in December of 2024. The Deluxe and Premium Deluxe default planes in MSFS 2024 are still fully encrypted and cannot be modded by the community. Here is what Martial said at the Twitch Q&A, and he didn't acknowledge that Deluxe and Premium Deluxe default planes in MSFS 2024 are still fully encrypted : Anyways, I hope you can pass this information on to whomever you need to pass it to (is it Jorg, Seb, or Martial?). And thanks for coming to Avsim to engage with us. You guys had a rough start to MSFS 2024, just as you had a rough start to MSFS 2020, but we can see the improvement in SU1 already, and we hope that MSFS 2024 will become the gem of flight simulation that MSFS 2020 became, after enough Sim Updates. Cheers. Edited February 7, 20251 yr by abrams_tank i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

I can only think it checks the core folders every time it does an update, and replaces files not on their formal files list, like MSFS2020 does. If we get another beta update before the formal roll-out of SU1, I will look out for it. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). How do you know it's like that if you haven't tried it yet? I'm sorry to be that guy that says "hey, everything works here!!" Well, it doesn't. I just spent too many hours re-configuring all my settings after a re-install (due to an issue I had that I was not able to sort out in any other way*). Luckily a reinstall is very quick now thanks to that thin client. The sim is up and running again (with most of my settings back in place), and it looks and performs extremely well, with AutoFPS and DLSS4. I just figured out how I can use my iPad as a 2nd monitor**. So now I can have the BATC interface on my iPad. I can even interact with it just like other iPad apps - sweet! *user error - I deleted a file that I should not have deleted... **using https://www.spacedesk.net/ Edited February 9, 20251 yr by Cpt_Piett 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

But looks like weather in Msfs24 is better depicted than it was in Msfs20. So maybe no need fo AS in Msfs24?
