April 13, 20251 yr Hi Folks, I have just seen the latest pics of FlightFX's Citation which looks very, very nice indeed. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with them, however. What sort of level of simulation are we likely to expect? Is it more at the Carenado, jolly lovely looking but a tad 'lite', or the HotStart Challenger in XPL, which seems to be simply the real Challenger but just on a screen 😁. I should absolutely adore a Citation in the sim but I'm not in the market for 'lite' products, really. Cheers all A
April 13, 20251 yr Possibly not HotStart levels, but up there with the best devs. AMD 9800X3D, NZXT X73 RGB AIO COOLER, Gigabyte X870 Aorus Elite WIFI7, 64GB 6000MHZ RAM, 4TB Samsung Pro NVME, 4 TB Crucial P3+ NVME, 4TB Crucial SSD, Gigabyte Gaming OC Geforce RTX5090, Antec C8 ARGB Case, X55 JOYSTICK/THROTTLES, LG 4K C4 42" TV/Monitor 120 Hz, 2 Dell 1080 monitors. April 13, 20251 yr Absolutely up there. I've been flying the P180 a lot in MSFS2024. On a par with the SWS PC12 and the FSW Lear I would say. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
April 13, 20251 yr The Citation X will be their first real test since all their other planes rely on default avionics as a base
April 13, 20251 yr Citation X is going to be so awesome. But also the ERJ 145 is one of my favorites too! Previews look great so far. Are they releasing for MSFS2024 or are they starting with 2020? Timelines? AMD 5830X Nvidia RTX 3060 Win 11
April 13, 20251 yr In an recent update on Discord, they said there is some detail that needs to be addressed on the 3D side and that has pushed the April release back a couple of weeks and now they are targeting a May release. It is releasing for both MSFS 2020 and 2024. April 13, 20251 yr I wasn't aware that the CitationX is no longer manufactured since 2018. I thought it was a recent aircraft, but now I learned that it is a legacy aircraft already.

They're priced well for what they offer. And it does seem like their add-ons are progressively getting better. From what I've seen so far, I'd put them at above average, but not in the Top Tier status of devs like Fenix/Leonardo/PMDG. And since the Citation X is every bit as complex as any airliner, it'll be fair to compare them against those devs. In comparison, the Default Cessna Longitude is quite deeply simulated, but it just doesn't get as much attention because it's both a Default addon and it has a relatively uncomplicated cockpit. But there IS actually a LOT going on under the surface there.
April 15, 20251 yr I have only flown their Vision Jet and I'd say FlightFX sits somewhere between Carenado and the better ones like A2A. Not even close to HotStart though: way too many things not being simulated. And weird things are done to overcome certain problems. The HJet seems to be better but from what I know it's not actually developed by FFX: they mainly are the publisher. It took MS/Asobo/WT to make the Vision Jet shine: their MSFS2024 version finally removed some weird things and added a lot of realistic features. Imho the MSFS2024 version is getting a bit closer to A2A-quality. Not there yet though. But certainly better than the FFX-version.
April 16, 20251 yr They are decent, the P180 is very nice to fly. If FlightFX were a little more in depth they would be right up there with A2A and Black Square. As it is the circuit breaker aren't modelled and there is no wear and tear modelled and some of the switches don't work. I have their p180, vision jet and Honda Jet and I'll probably pass on anything else they offer unless they become more in-depth. Better than Caranado but not nearly as good as A2A. As much as I enjoy the Longitude (and CJ4 for that matter), just wish it could plan approaches with tight/procedure turns without adding a couple of hundred miles to your track (until you slow down)...
