Had high hopes but the FsLabs A321 neo is a mess

Featured Replies

Was really looking forward to flying this aircraft in 2024 today. But the whole thing, in my opinion, is a mess.

- Nosewheel steering with pedals is really difficult (apparently the only way to do this is by clicking the steering disconnect button on the tiller)...why not just make nosewheel steering with pedals an option?
- GSX integration is clunky. Wouldn't load cargo until refuelling was complete (took forever to refuel and load). Totally unrealistic...both can be done together in the real world.
- Calibration of TCA Airbus throttle is problematic. Reverse is a pain to set, detents all over the place (even after using the inbuilt system to set them). Fenix works wonders with this.
- I've saved a number of key binds for both the Fenix A320 and iniBuilds A350 which work seamlessly on both...none of these work on FSL A321.
- Ground handling feels very unrealistic too.

I took it out for take off, climbed up to 10,000 and gave up. What a disappointment.

That flow is GSX which can be set in the settings of GSX itself. see my response at the topic here above if you follow the flow it will start first with refueling and the time frame is set by the slider from GSX itself
- Calibration of TCA Airbus throttle is problematic. Reverse is a pain to set, detents all over the place (even after using the inbuilt system to set them). Fenix works wonders with this. I have the TCA and it's working perfect including calibration maybe something is off at your end?

- Ground handling feels very unrealistic too. Well it's according the RW pilots (lot of them) pretty accurate

I would take a step back ask also for help at the fsl forums lot of great guys floating around to help you up your way...

Funny you didn't care to read 😉

Thinking a just released product will work as per expectations based on other existing products is counter productive.
Follow the developer's (and GSX's) recommended flow. It may help.
Have you posted your issues in their forum? They are quite prompt to respond. Caveat: I do not have the NEO nor 2024 but I do operate the CEO in 2020.

I cannot share any of those experiences, although I do not use GSX so cannot comment on that.

I use a slider control (or whatever it is called) as a tiller and works great.

Calibration of my Thrustmaster Hotas was a snap, no problems and quite easily bound a reverse thrust assignment.

All of my key previous bindings worked without problems.

Not sure what you don't like about the ground handling - I've never flown an Airbus so accept it as it is.

To come out and make a broad, overarching declaration that it is a "mess" is both unfair and misleading - maybe it is something to do with your system?

I was going to tell you how to set the NW Steering, but you can't be bothered to look at a manual so I cant be bothered.

There are some stuff i don’t like, but overall (for me) all issues of topic starter listed are not existing ! You gotta learn how to operate airframe before posting reviews lol

Just got the neo and am totally happy with it. I really will be spending more time in the manuals as it is a complex add on.

I had these 3 issues also.

1.  its the same as it was in p3d.  fiddly but you get used to it.  but i do agree. I made the joke to my mate as you really have to push on the pedals to get it to turn when taxiiing,   "i didnt need to go to the gym today to flex my quads, having to use full rudder left and right to taxi the fsl did that for me"  you can put a joystick button as "water rudder" to make life simple.

2.gsx, totally agree.  its terrible.  I dont know anyone that likes it.

3.you need to set it as "1 throttle"  and not 2.  It took me 30 to 45 mins to work this out.  even though there is 2 throttles use the "1 throttle" mode of doing it.

other than this, its is a lovely product.
