My take is they have a programmatic way to provide good LOD,and it will ensure coverage over your entire screen/POV. Then again, what do I know LoL! -B EDIT: Chat GPT is smarter than I:https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/su3-beta-discussion-thread/721189/2225?u=runicsea7180106 Edited July 2, 2025Jul 2 by btacon

It has been a struggle to do LOD's in 2024 since they became very aggressive...(I assume this was for Xbox reasons). Glad to see they modified it. I have been testing it in the Beta SDK over the past several weeks and is much better than it was before while still assuring proper LOD modelling is done. LOD's were not really enforced in 2020 which explains some of the horrible performance at many airports.... Popping mess when taking off. Taxi signs and bits of the airport snapping in to place a few yards in front of the plane.

I am not sure how it will effect all existing objects in the sim since it would depend on how the LOD's were done initially and many things in the sim were just poorly done to begin with regarding LOD's. I was testing the new curve the past several weeks in the SDK as it was an experimental option so I only saw results on 3D stuff I was building. I don't understand Asobo's taxiway signs, I recently made custom taxiway signs with 3 LOD levels and they do not disappear at all even under the prior super-strict LOD curve.... July 2, 2025Jul 2 Sitting now at the ATL with AIG, A350 and all seems fine so far. Will try a short flight over to MIA and see if anything pops up. July 2, 2025Jul 2 not mentioned in the notes, but the Showcase camera keyboard shortcut placing the camera in, I assume was the origin point of the world, seems to be fixed. Edit: Nevermind.. Weird it didn't happen with the A5 but it did with the Fenix Edited July 2, 2025Jul 2 by Tuskin38
