"Light years ahead of default" - that bar is set very, very low.

I've been using X-Plane built-in ATC and I've been enjoying it a lot - that's not to say it's perfect but it works quite well. I wish it had better voices, but the UI is perfect - especially since it can be bound to show/hide via a joystick button and then the responses can be cycled through with the hat switch. Really intuitive. The only thing I miss is the voice recognition but since BATC doesn't work on X-Plane, there's no other option. SayIntentions I won't use as I can't support anything that requires monthly subscriptions.

BATC's main problem for me is the interface that sits taking up tons of space - they really need to figure out how to make it hide when it's not needed for those of us who use a single screen. They're halfway there with the button bind but I find it rarely works so it's as much use as a chocolate teapot.

I would download the BATC Toolbar https://www.beyondatc.net/download. This'll essentially allow you to manage BATC from within the sim.

Just make sure the BATC window is NOT the active window and the toggle to show and hide the UI works perfectly... 😉

I love when people complain about a product, and it quickly becomes obvious that they didn't try to first learn how the product works. 😉

What you probably meant to say is that I need to take into account some weird quirk of the software that isn't following a normal user experience paradigm - otherwise it would have just worked 😂

Thanks to huge efforts from <@503629508071653376>, ATC pronunciation of waypoints and procedures has been massively improved. We're now more aligned with AIRAC data, providing a more authentic experience every cycle.

**📡 CPDLC Incoming**
CPDLC is nearly ready to hit experimental! We're rolling it out in phases, with an aim to get the first phase to experimental by the end of the month.


**1. PDC Clearance Handling** – Done ✅
**2. ATC-Initiated CPDLC Instructions** – In progress (altitude changes, directs, freq changes)
**3. Pilot Requests via CPDLC **– Coming soon

**🛬 Complex Airport Ops**
We've added support for advanced runway assignment logic, reflecting real-world operations at over 200 major airports. These setups consider wind, time, aircraft type, and more—thanks to our amazing air ops editors and mentors! 

I really want to stress how much work this was for the team. This is one of those features you don’t even notice is there because when everything is running smoothly it’s almost invisible, but that’s not to understate the amount of effort that went into making the systems that created that stability. Huge shoutout to <@710590352922509402> for spearheading this effort.

**🚦 Traffic Overhaul**
Massive traffic system rewrite = smoother performance and reduced stutters.
Real-world routing is now more accurate with carefully researched **real-life flight plans.**

**🌤️ Historic 24hr Weather (MSFS 2024 Preview)**
Support for historical METARs is in development to align with MSFS2024’s 24-hour weather replay feature.

**🔁 Request Cancellation Improvements**
You’ll soon be able to cancel requests cleanly without getting stuck in loops—no more ATC dead ends.

**🐛 Bug Fixing (Yes, we are!)**
Every release includes bug fixes—even if they’re not always obvious. We focus on root causes, not just symptoms. For the best chance of getting your issue fixed, detailed reports with logs and flight tracking are essential!

As mentioned, this is a heads-down quiet period of getting the program stabilized and ready to start adding our next big feature: VFR. We’ll report back when we have more to share. Highlights for me are that CPDLC is coming - and soon (target end of this month for Phase 1)!

Also really excited that we'll finally get 24hrs historic weather support for MSFS24 live weather.

Cancel requests is also much needed.

Great to see that work continues behind the scenes. Hopefully we'll also get some new traffic data soon that has a Summer / Winter split.

Is there a web interface for it too like FSHUD? So you don't need to take up ANY sim real estate and tun from tablet instead?
