August 7, 20251 yr I never knew of the new beta until after it was released and my sim is running better than ever no need to reinstall I guess if you already have a good running sim.... for some reason I believe the runway or airport stutter is GONE!? I don't know if that is psychological or not sice they mentioned changing views is faster at airports but geesh.. maybe it is fixed

August 7, 20251 yr I'm not currently in the beta; but if you have custom camera views, you need to back them up before doing a full re-install (they will be deleted). They are normally saved in: C:\Users\*UserName*\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SimObjects\Airplanes\ Probably also a good idea to back up exe.xml If your community directory is in a custom path, it will also need to be redirected after a reinstall In this day and age, a full reinstall seems like a pretty drastic measure... I hope they don't expect everyone to do it when SU3 is officially released. Edited August 7, 20251 yr by MadDog
August 7, 20251 yr I’m seeing more people reporting either stuttering gone or nearly gone in the new SU3 beta. I won’t be home until Friday to test myself
August 7, 20251 yr Well I can finally get the Longitude off the ground thanks to the improved performance. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.

August 7, 20251 yr No METAR fix yet? Hmmmm I actually reinstalled FS 2024 after a system reset, and wasn't even aware of the update. Learning to fly gliders since 1980Stopped using flightsims for good since early August 2026, after 34 yrs using some really great specimens... If I'm asked to name the preferred one, after all these years, MSFS 2024 is my answer without hesitation.(No desktop :-// after the last one crashed for good, so no simming, but I keep polling AVSIM - my main ludic activities spot since around 2006...)
August 7, 20251 yr I would never consider reinstalling the Beta or the non Beta 2024 or 2020. Unless I was absolutely forced to do that. During the long reign of FSX, I never reinstalled it after day 1. I did update it when the updated versions came out (I think there were two of those). If you want to cleanse msfs, I would enter or leave the Beta and then do the opposite. I'm in the Beta, so for a cleanse, I just leave the Beta, fly once, and then immediately rejoin the Beta. No more cleansing than that. Never lost anything important doing things that way. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
August 7, 20251 yr I reinstalled MSFS a few times while in the Beta. Actually just did it yesterday (have to check if by any chance I was lucky to push the new beta release ?). It works beautifully and I just have to tick a few Graphics settings that always revert to defaults, like setting instrument refresh rate to High where I had it because reinstall sets it to Low, getting the Fauna Off because reinstall sets it to Medium, setting TAA because it reverts to DLSS, and a couple more. Controller settings are preserved - Thankfully !!!! because they're a true PITA to create 😕 Edited August 7, 20251 yr by jcomm Learning to fly gliders since 1980Stopped using flightsims for good since early August 2026, after 34 yrs using some really great specimens... August 7, 20251 yr Steam version here, so tried just allowing the beta to update without uninstalling. All good as far as I can tell so far. Previously had very poor performance at EGNX (paware addon), with huge fps drops, stutters and pauses, but they are now gone in daytime and at night.
