MSFS2024 1.5.27.0 - SU3 is here

Yeah, the bottom line is still 4K with a 5080 16 gig card is still out unfortunately.   That's with mostly medium to a few high FS settings.  2K stutter free is fine still.  Not much overall savings in VRAM in SU3.  That's on my system with a 60hz monitor.

Folks with an upper end'ish processor and a 4070, 4080 and 4090 series with at least 16 gigs can play in 4K just fine.  On 2K they barley break 10 gigs vram to hold stutter free at 60fps.

The 50 series cards for some reason just aren't good for MSFS right now.  A 5090 probably works fine because you're throwing a ton of memory at the sim, although some people still report vramming out.  Those folks are probably using ultra settings though.

Looks like I'm gonna have to upgrade to the 5080 24 gig when it comes out or go for the 5090 when prices come down next year some time.

I don’t get it… how could the generation of card affect VRAM utilization?

I downloaded the B748I, but I'm having trouble finding the flight_model.cfg file. People involved in beta testing said that after manually downloading, we should be able to find and edit that file. Any ideas?

No update on Steam. But I switch from Beta to None, and in window mode, it shows 1.5.27. All good

You must use the VFS Projector for this type of stuff. You can download things to disk but they are still in the VFS, in fspackage files on disk.

Others are seeing this:

CHARACTERS QUANTITY
CHARACTERS VARIETY
CHARACTERS QUALITY
AIRPORT SERVICES QUANTITY
AIRPORT SERVICES VARIETY
PARKED AIRCRAFT QUANTITY
PARKED AIRCRAFT VARIETY
AIRCRAFT TRAFFIC QUANTITY
AIRCRAFT TRAFFIC VARIETY

But I'm only seeing this:

CHARACTERS QUANTITY
CHARACTERS VARIETY
CHARACTERS QUALITY
AIRPORT SERVICES QUANTITY

Any guidance on how I can find the final items on the list? I'd like to turn off PARKED AIRCRAFT, but I can't see an option to select that.

EDIT: Fixed, it was a GUI issue. Some options can be truncated based on your screen layout.

Where to find change log from 1.5.26.0 to 1.5.27.0? They have the change log for the whole SU3 only.

Quick question. I didn’t participate in SU3 beta - so how do developer updates apply to downloaded aircraft? For example, if I downloaded Fenix variants and an update from Fenix would be released, how would I go about updating?

That would be through the Fenix installer as usual .. nothing to do with SU 3.

Or am I misunderstanding your question?

Check maybe here (not sure if it was changed again, but in the SU3 beta it was moved here).

%appdata%\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\<your msfs user name>

for those using AL and editing the content.xml via AL, the correct one should already be detected if you use the latest version (or if you see an issue let me know because i can't really test anything atm my FS drive is not mounted

Thank you

edit : ouch @bork already reaplied while i was replying, sorry .. i often post double replies hihi 😁😜

For MS Store users it's specifically:

C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\<your msfs username>

On my machine going to %appdata% takes you one folder too far, i.e. %appdata% is c:\users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming

The idea is to lock frames at 30 in game and apply 2x frame gen to get 60 on screen.

I tried that and still got only 30.  Let me try again and see.

Yes, it works now, and I don't get the screen tearing....thanks for the reminder.

Ahhh, I don't know what the VFS Projector is. Would you be so kind as to direct me to some documentation, please? Thank you!
