Is it me or is SU 3 somewhat of a disappointment?

MK's LEMG and GSX.  Will find out if it's the airport, the PG scenery, or GSX here soon.

Oh yeah, and the FNX a320.

Edit:  I think it's the PG scenery.

Something has regressed. I used to be stutter free.  Now it's just horrible. This is getting ridiculous.

Have you removed all addons and then tried? Especially scenery addons - the developers will likely need to update things.

Yeah, that's not the case here.

Anyways after the magic PC reboot, it seems to be better.  Still stuttery, just not as bad.

Thinking it's the connection to the servers more than anything.

FWIW. I was in SU3 Beta from day one.  I would read all about the stutters folks were experiencing, especially on landing or during departure.  I never had those issues.  98% of the time, smooth as silk.  Now it’s a big stuttering mess for me.  Go figure!

Something has changed and it’s not my PC

EDIT. So I took a look at settings and saw that Multiplayer was turned on.  I’ve always turned Multiplayer off since Release Day One MSFS 2020.  Anyway, must have been enabled during yesterday’s release.  I turned it back off and for me?  Stutter free once again.  Try it. You might like it.

Turn off PG and turn on Dynamic Settings.  Look ma, no sttuters.

So after a couple of days, SU3 is a net bummer. It adds a few new annoyances and fixes only one previous one - but created a bunch of work in the process...

Fixed:

- Now have Tobii settings that don't CTD - but I had to redo the settings as the ones I added to the XML file as a workaround are gone

Not Fixed:

- Tobii still requires a reset or two when entering the sim to get the camera in the right place

New Annoyances:

- ATC often says "Air Tahiti underscore one two tree"... "underscore"?!?!?

- In the EFB if you click outside a "seat" in the cargo loading screen while configuring your passengers (for the Caravan in my case), it will start you over from 0.

- Sometimes the sim completely ignores the Esc key and I cannot get out of a menu. I need to kill the sim.

Neither here nor there:

- The ability to download stuff makes zero difference to me, but then I have a good 1Gbps Internet connection.

- Performance is down, but that's probably because I set all the new graphics options for people and ground crews to Ultra.

- It feels easier to trim my plane for level flight than before... so it feels like the plane is more responsive to trim adjustments, but that might be wishful thinking.

So overall, disappointed with this release.

That's a placebo...lol.  I just tried that and still have stutters on or off.  It's actually worse though when it's off.  How in the world!

I thought I saw in the release notes about camera view switching stutter fix while at large airports.  I wonder if that's what regressed. Although "large" airports doesn't mean anything here.  I think that was just the description on the bug list.

Guys, sorry, scrolled through the thread but did not see how to get rid of the traffic? Before the update I turned it off. Now I see it is back again... As I remember there is an option sounds like airport activity or so, that must be off?

Intel i9-13900K, GIGABYTE GAMING Z790, GeForce RTX4090, 32GB

Quick fly about last night, first impressions after a fresh install;

- huge change log, nice to read.

- performance better but still not great, VRAM maxes out causing stutters when on ground, smooths out when in the air but still get occasional big drops every now and then. Vast improvement still required (VR in use) as it's still nowhere near 2020 levels and what we were "promised" prior to launch with regards to optimisations, let's see what SU4 brings in that respect.

- with that in mind AutoFPS is having to work overtime to reach my desired FPS number, poor little app 😄

- Still the issue of switching in and out of VR causes massive performance drop so I have to restart the Sim, thankfully it's a quick reload but still a PITA to do.

- minor annoyance of mouse not sticking to the window still present so have to go full screen which bugs me.

- C108b caravan fuel switches still always "On" unlike in 2020 where they begin in the correct "Off" position, minor annoyance.

- Blurry ground textures still present, definitely not as sharp as 2020 to my eyes.

- great to have the ability to download various items, will take a closer look at that later.

- Clouds certainly better than their 2020 counterparts, need to go storm chasing as some point.

- they've over complicated the Traffic settings in the graphics.

Overall 7/10, big test in the coming days when I do some proper flying.

Yes, see here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/bad-stuttering-caused-by-coherentgtui-manipulators-spikes-even-at-low-settings/734724
