August 22, 2025Aug 22 Well, after about 20 sessions in SU3 using the addon helicopters, gliders and the default A32N and 333 by Inibuilds, with real weather and BATC + FSLTL 1024, no stutters, actually I have the impression that FS 2024 SU3 is smooth as silk. LOD = TLOD = 75 in my settings. Photogrammetry = OFF I also use RealTurb and "Legacy Weight & Balance" by GotFriends. No addon sceneries - just default! One of these days will test default ATC and AI Traffic because those were causing stutters pre SU3-final. FS 2024 continues, step by step, towards the deserved classification of "My Best Sim EVER! The panning stutters are still there. Interesting thing I noticed is the difference in performance of an airport when departing and arriving. In my case, Fenix, Inibuilds EGLL in 4K with high settings, I can maintain my FG max of 60FPS while departing but on arrival I struggle to hit 50FPS, same settings, same session, (this results in bad stuttering, as my real framerate has dropped below 30FPS). This is not ideal but I will have to stay away from Heathrow until it's fixed. It's even worse with the default Gaya EGLL! i7 12700K , DDR4 64GB RAM @3600MHz, Asus Z690-Plus D4 MB, Gainward 4090 RTX Graphics, 850W Corsair PSU, Kraken AIO watercooler, Nvme 1TB ssd, 1TB ssd, 500GB ssd.

If your target FPS is too high for the hardware you are using, MSFS 2024 will degrade the graphics, including making the textures blurry. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

This people continue to say that FS2024 performance is OK... it's not! With such low settings it looks far worse than MSFS at Ultra settings with PG and it's not stutter free anyway. Even people with 5090 and very high-end PCs have stutters: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/fps-drops-after-flights-and-doesn-t-recover-even-in-menu/734774 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qfc-bWZao8g 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

It's probably my settings, which are far from HIGH / ULTRA except in some cases, like avionics refresh rate. Yet !!! during the SU3 beta I tested default ATC and Default AI Traffic, and the only occasions I experienced stutters in FS 2024 were with AI Traffic enabled ! When I switched back to BATC + FSLTL @ 1024, stutters were gone. August 22, 2025Aug 22 Waiting and reading before I launch it and therefore catch the update. Seriously though you are ALWAYS going to see a FPS drop between cruise and landing at a payware airport. August 22, 2025Aug 22 MSFS2024 implemented aggressive out-of-view LODs which make the sim perform significantly better (up to 50%!) for everybody. Of course this comes with the side effect of loading when changing the view angle drastically (-> panning 360 degrees). Well you can‘t have it all, no stutters while panning around 360 degrees *and* high FPS. I prefer the latter, because the angle of panning when in the cockpit is max. 60 degrees to each side. So I rarely have stutters and yet 60 FPS on ultra at heavy payware airports with full BATC traffic. I think they did very well with the LODs in MSFS2024 overall. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

So 4 year old hardware is still doing just fine at a lowered setting. But the latest hardware doesn't provide a linearly amount of improvement, preventing ability to set everything on ultra.
August 22, 2025Aug 22 Alright so doing a 9.5hr A332 flight and everything is going well. They improved the sounds heaps and the aircraft sounds very nice. The FMGC SID/STAR bug has been fixed hopefully aswell. The sim itself runs very smooth now well done! Edited August 22, 2025Aug 22 by MikeH99
