A correction, if I may. He isn't just "another YouTuber". He is a working A320 captain and he was just expressing his opinion on why he prefers 2020 for his airliner flying and why he uses 2024 for his scenic flights.

No bias, no hate.

Yep I get you.  The hate makes everything go haywire.

13:45 What is that horrible demarcation line between the famous "pebbles" (well, rocks in this case) and (what looks like) blurred terrain? Is that what happens whenever the user gets down to an altitude where the procedural scenery "kicks in"? I would have expected a much smoother transition than that, but maybe what I can see here is not normal?

Tell that to IniBuilds.

They are just going where the money is, and the money is the gamer market.

try going on one of their numerous twitch "partners" streams and mentioning the issues with the 350 and airports with horrific performance and see what happens.

Inibuilds have the market cornered with the new gamer market.  Much the same as aerosoft did with the p3d/fsx simmer market.

They could release a 340/380 with square wheels and the twitch streamers will shill it and the kids will buy it, much like the 350

Who cares?  There are still fans of FSX out there.   2020 is going to be on life support in the near future as more and more devs simply release their products for 2024.

Purchased two airports today for MSFS 2020

  • Atelic ELLX Luxembourg International
  • Pyreegue EGBB Birmingham

Thank you to both developers for appreciating that there is still a large and lucrative market for MSFS 2020 addons

Agreed.  Not everyone is on Cable/DSL.  Dialup modems still exist.  Sometimes location/service provider dictates such a “primitive” solution.  They all have robust freeware channels for artwork and FM improvement.  Also, don’t forget to mention P3d.  Blue skies,

Just like Windows 10 and 11 for many  years. The vast majority of users have remained on W10. New isn't always better.

Hey, Google AI, "how many windows 10 users compared to windows 11?"

Answer: "As of July 2025, Windows 11 has a larger user base than Windows 10, with Windows 11 holding approximately 52-53% of the market share compared to Windows 10's roughly44-45%. This shift marks Windows 11 as the most-used Windows operating system, driven by the approaching end of support for Windows 10 in October 2025, which is prompting a wave of hardware upgrades and user migrations to the newer OS. Knock it off already, 2020 isn't going anywhere...

Just enjoy whichever airplane game version/platform you desire without the false prophecies.

I think alot of this stems from the fact we have gotten into this crappy cycle of repeatedly having to change sim, reinstall software, pay again, wait, get it so its good then another sim releases. Shame really.

True, and I finally switched a few months ago because of the impending lack of support. Am I happy about it, no. My Windows 10 was much smoother in performance. But it took 11  around 4 years to get people to switch, and only because they threatened to remove support for 10..

I feel its totally worth it for the level of tech evolution MSFS2020/2024 has provided.

Gone are the days of needing to repurchase a P3D license for every time a whole number version is released.

I'm glad Microsoft came back throwing haymakers and absolutely crushing the flight sim competition!💪

That was the good part about Microsoft dumping the FS franchise after FSX. We had stability for some time, and that has its benefits.
