Su16 was fine but i was tinkering with my 2024 install slowly getting into it.

Went back to 2020 thou i get ctd in TAA and dx11

I turn on dx12 and dlss /dlaa and it runs fine.

Any thoughts?

Is it the latest nvidia driver causing this?

Thanks

Mike

I use TAA and NVDA and I’ve not had any issues but then again I have not updated drivers in a while under the idea of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!  I might try rolling back the drivers if you want to use TAA but I am not even sure what driver version I have.

I don't know why we could not discuss the comparison between the 2 sims. We share our experiences. The author of this post never said that MSFS 2020 was "better" than MSFS 2024. In its actual state, and I flew many hours on MSFS 2024, this sim is causing many issues for people having a low-mid range hardware. That's all. Of course, you may enjoy MSFS 2024 with GA aircrafts, and I do with the Justflight PA 28 for example. Problems arrive when you try to fly add-on liners on big airports.

I loved 2020 - I spent quite a lot of money on addons.  I painted liveries and over 100k people enjoyed them.  I moved on to 2024 and for my flying it's vastly better.

I think people are a little buthurt that devs are moving on as well.  There's truly people at this forum that want 2024 to fail, or think it's hard to setup simply because it's different than 2020.

I sound like a broken record but no one is forcing anyone to move to 2024!  Stay in 2020 - what a great time to be a simmer!  We have lots of options, wonderful addons etc.

There's a lot of b***hurt going around 🙂 (whether it's those who're weirdly insecure in their continued preference for 2020 or other sims, or have a weird b***hurt towards Asobo), etc... and yes there truly are those who want 2024 to fail. Unfortunately for them, said hurt is only going to continue and increase.

For those who prefer 2020 or other sims and/or those who hate 2024 for whatever reasons: be happy in your use of those other sims without feeling the need to always deride MSFS 2024 or bringing up 2024 or letting it live rent-free in your heads 🙂. I mean it's comical, but also cringe.

I've been around gaming a long time, first computer was ZX spectrum. I've seen the 'xbox/ps' fanboi rubbish, seen the 'amiga/atari' rubbish, seen loads of 'my racing sim is better than yours' etc etc etc.... but never, until now had i seen this utter drivel aimed at 2 games one of which is a bit newer but essentially the 2024 is the same in so many ways... both are by the same dev FFS.... its utter madness and so so so dull.

Both sides seem to be totally blind to the fact they are slagging off the SAME devs each way..... anyway i largely ignore it now as i play neither that much anymore.

I said this before: Asobo and Microsoft should stop supporting MSFS 2020. It's a deprecated version.

They should throw all their resources behind MSFS 2024.

There is a difference between stopping feature/fix and active development vs supporting...

I'm sure the latter is coming inevitably although SU16 was a big step to aligning the two digital twins

Now as for stopping support altogether, you don't typically turn off the lights on something less then a year after the replacement was announced...

That's not even close to a standard practice.

In the current state of 2024, I personally enjoy 2020 more. Its just more stable and more complete and performance are far better. Its enough to overcome the few extra eye candy of 2024.

Waiting to day 2024 situation will allow me to uninstall 2020.

As time passes, it is becoming all too obvious that these ego protection threads have little to due with sim functionality.

As another poster said recently, things are currently "not even close" with a fast growing gap between father and son.

The horrific control binding experience being the main reason in my eyes.

I missed the 'horrific control binding experience'.

I dunno why.

I'll put my hands up here; I'm a cretin generally but I didn't have any problem with setting up my controls in 2024. I have a yoke, pedals and separate throttle unit. I fly tubes and GA. Never had a problem with control bindings....

Do you really think that there is someone who wants to see FS2024 fail, knowing that MSFS support and enhancement will end soon (if it's not already over with SU16), and after having spent 80-200 USD for their copy and invested hours and hours to fight with the bugs, tweak and fiddle the configuration, etc.?

People can be frustrated and disappointed but the majority of the FS community is not dumb.
