Rhetorical question 2 - upgrading to a new GPU is not a miracle cure you think it is, my system is far from "old and slow". I've been building PCs since the 1990s so I know what do to and what to expect. 3 - I play many games/simulations and many of them work very well indeed on my system, including MSFS2024 in the right conditions. But you're playing MSFS 2024 in VR, an with a 3070 Ti? And you expect everything to be ultra smooth in VR with a 3070 Ti? I'm running a 3060 Ti, which is not as good as your 3070 Ti, but it's not super, super, far from it. I just play in 1080p on a normal 1080p monitor. I am not thinking of VR anytime soon, and if I ever decided to go for VR, I think I probably need a 4080 as the minimum for MSFS 2024. I can kind of understand if you are having performance issues with MSFS 2024 in 1080p with a 3070 Ti on a normal 2D monitor, then something is quite not right. But if you are playing in VR with a 3070 Ti, yeah, I think you are way under-powered. Edited October 5, 2025Oct 5 by abrams_tank i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

You clearly missed my first post on this thread, so do yourself a favour and re read that and you'll understand my system is perfectly capable of running MSFS2024 sufficiently enough in VR. And with all due respect if you haven't used VR don't try telling someone what their system cannot achieved when that person has been using VR for 9+ years, plus the aforementioned decades of building PCs. It'd be good to get back on topic and away from my non issues, when the issues are clearly with the simulator. October 5, 2025Oct 5 Anyway @MarcG, I don't mean to go back and forth with you on this. If you are satisfied with your machine, of course it is fine. I simply asked ChatGPT what it thought of them to validate what I had found out for myself and it pretty much did that. I guess it would have been interesting to see how it might have reacted if I was not using prety much optimal settings though. I have a grand time with my 7800XT using my Quest 3 and High on Virtual Desktop. The SU4 Beta showcased that it's less about having raw performance and more about MSFS just downright needing some proper optimization. 19 hours ago, abrams_tank said: But if you are playing in VR with a 3070 Ti, yeah, I think you are way under-powered. I tend to disagree, it might not be the most preferable card but the 3070ti is still plenty powerful. Where it mostly falters is it's limited VRAM which is particularly important for VR which basically renders 2 screens at a high resolution, this is further exasperated by FS24 using a lot of VRAM, but again SU4 Beta has greatly fixed a lot of this usage. Whether it's enough to make up for a lack of VRAM is a different matter though.

Michael Moe It's a bit of a curve, at least for me. they made a darn good TO to landing YT video that is great at getting you started. It took me about 6 flights to understand enough to get through takeoff to landing. But once to figure things out, it's an addicting plane to fly. Especially if you like flying private jets in and out of non-major airports around the world.
