Shout out to you on this.  Just picked it up.  Man what a great addon.  A huge immersion boost

This is clearly a superb airport, but, and not to take any credit away from the dev, as my little complaint can be aimed at other devs too, but why oh why create people in these sceneries that look like they are frozen in time! I don't mean passengers that are obviously stood still, like in a queue or on their phone waiting, but people who are crossing a road or clearly walking somewhere and they're frozen with their legs and arms outstretched!   Having said that, no doubt it will be added to my sim.

The worst part about having 3D people at airports is when they have repeated animations that look daft. The MS/ASobo default asset of a guy with a briefcase coming out of a building (for example), and then walking a short distance before........disappearing  is a case in point. The same animation is then repeated ad nauseam. Another one that annoys me is one of the airport workers (possibly another default asset) who gives a thumbs up. After the second or third thumbs up animation, I want to run him down with my 737  RD Presets LOWS Salzburg has one of these guys at one of the parking spots (the one that I prefer to use)

As a Tottenham Hotspur fan, the RW Profiles EGNT is forever tarnished because it has a TV in the departure lounge showing the humiliating 6-1 loss to Newcastle on it. Made worse by the fact that my entire family are from Newcastle and found it hilarious that I'd spent my money on something celebrating it.

The 2024 native airports are amazing from many vendors.  Don’t really have any performance issues with any of them and will often just drone around inside the airport to see what’s been rendered … or take out a //42 buggy and drive around it … I mean I paid for all the detail so I wanna see it all.

Just think if developers ditched the super detailed airport interiors you could probably buy 2 airports with excellent and accurate external details. After all this is where you are going to be spending 95% of your time is it not. The same goes for aircraft cabins.

Cheers

It is not.  Good example is Portland PDX airport, recent interior redesign is fantastic and accurate to recent real world upgrades.

I came to that conclusion a long time ago with such detailed third-party airports, but it's not exclusive to third-party developers; it's part of everyday life with MFS because it seems to be what drives sales. It's more important to have pebbles or land animals off the runway than credible turbulence physics, for example...

I've worked airside at LOWS for many years and RD's rendition of Salzburg is the one farthest off from reality (looks rushed, wrong textures, wrong models, ..).
Digital Design's LOWS is the most accurate and true-to-life rendition, if you don't mind sending money to a russian firm...

"RW Profiles"' EGNT is a 10/10 scenery just as good as the ones from Flightbeam, Fly Tampa, Pyreegue, Jetstream, Dreamflight and Marcus Nyberg.
Going to fly the sh out of Newcastle-Salzburg this winter with the upcoming Justflight F70/F100 in the old "blue belly" Austrian Arrows livery.

Yeah, a native 2024 airport should be much better performance-wise since the 2024 SDK now forces the Devs to do proper LOD's.

Proper and proper,, that only means the buildings and objects disappear at much shorter distances compared to 2020.

It might be fantastic. But once you have explored it then that's it. Wouldn't you rather have 2 airport add ons both being accurately represented outside instead?

Where and how did you come up with this as being the only option?  Why can’t more than one airport be accurately presented both inside and outside?

That’s sorta like saying why do aircraft external model if you’re only ever in the cockpit … and then adding wouldn’t you rather have 2 aircraft cockpits represented accurately.

So my answer would be no, and neither is mutually exclusive.

This might sound strange to some people, but just knowing that there is detailed internal modelling makes an airport more immersive to me.

who says that highly detailed airport interior necessarily reduces fps while you are still in the cockpit? the airport interior shouldn't get rendered ONLY until you walk Inside or at least are close enough to look inside the terminal, which means you wouldn't be flying anyway at that very moment, therefore aerodynamics and wind/weather effects are somewhat less relevant while you are busy watching the luggage belt or Newcastle / Tottenham TV in the waiting lounge.

very nice.

...because that is what then drives price up and some people have limited budgets.  It's not always an option to 'have everything' and so these choices are relevent.

Clearly, we all have different preferences and I'd guess it's hard for devs to predict what most people want.  But I'd suggest there is quite a large proportion of people who really don't care about airport interiors - and the resource, performance and pricing costs that they bring with them.
