Only because you must have missed this part of my reply: Quote You won't believe which was the update that droves the most sales this year, and it was....THE PIGS! And yes, Cleaning Crew were the previous N.1, now they are done, their spot is taken by "Passengers making queues", that is actually the N.1 most requested feature. And I suggest to read the parts before explaining HOW this data was collected (correlation of sales surges+datamining on Discord), which it's no use repeating it here. But that's besides the point. The point is that the Cleaning Crew is HARDLY the most important part of this update. The Cleaning Crew are the MARKETING part of the update, they contribute to new sales to keep the lights on, and allows to continue working on FREE updates, 3+ years after the release of GSX for MSFS. Serious simmers™ surely have realized the real update is all the various MAP features, which are a major improvement to the usability: - How many times you struggled finding gates in the GSX menu, especially at big airports ? - How many times you wanted to make a custom pushback on the fly, maybe because you were hard-pressed to departure on an online network, and found you didn't have an airport profile installed, or the one you have didn't had that custom procedure you need, and you found the QuickEdit difficult to use or with keys in conflict with something else ? This is what the update it really about: QOL/usability improvements, which are subsided by sales to new users, that are coming here for the "silly" eye-candy features. Nobody connects to our server, you all connect to various Cloudflare nodes depending on your area If you see the "In maintenance" note, or you see a version number lower than it should be (like 3.7.1, which doesn't exists anywhere on our server), it means your local Cloudflare node is not updated, which of course is not normal, but sometimes it happens and it fixes itself in a couple of days. The maintenance mode was active for less than an hour the day the update came out. Firstly, thanks for your reply and explanation. Makes sense as I’ve seen Cloudflare problems several times in the last week. From memory the version was 3.6.2 but I’d need to check that. 1 hour ago, virtuali said: Try using a VPN to update I wouldn’t know where to start with that. 1 hour ago, virtuali said: Try using the Offline Installer, That’s what I was doing yesterday but it just kept starting and then disappearing off the screen with no message. I’ll try again shortly. Please read my post on your support forum for details. 1 hour ago, virtuali said: Be sure you haven't selected the Beta channel. Definitely didn’t have that option selected. Finally, I’m having couatl64.dll crashes starting yesterday. If I restore the entire contents of the Addon Manager folder from a backup three weeks ago will that get things stable again albeit on an older version? Ray (Cheshire, England). No, I said it happened a few times early on I would guess maybe 10x since installing GSX for 2020. 13 hours ago, virtuali said: the whole point of GSX is that you don't have to pushback manually. Of course, that's one reason I bought it. But when it pushes back into buildings, spins around 180 degrees suddenly, etc etc etc and was told I need to use profiles to stop that? That was one of several reasons I stopped using GSX. 13 hours ago, virtuali said: Why not accept the simple fact that I might have MISSED your request ? Because I've mentioned it in threads like this and zero response from you along with the direct attempt to get the message to you. Are you going to now fix this, or you think it doesn't matter? It matters because by the time we're there it's just dead time waiting for the next action--all preflight stuff is done. 13 hours ago, virtuali said: But the MAP is something for those users not too interested in eye-candy, because it makes GSX so much quicker to use, and it completely solved your "I shouldn't need an airport profile to pushback" argument,. Great, perhaps it's time as said to try GSX again and see if indeed the startup chaos ended w/ regard to keep couatl functioning. One of the other annoyances with GSX that contributed to my decision to disable it was the need to update it which seemed to happen every other day at times. Why the need for these frequent updates? I couldn't ignore yellow warning splash so would back out and update it. I actually timed how long this took and it was essentially as long as MSFS 2024 takes to initialize. If I understand correctly, GSX will only follow the taxi/parking paths in the scenery if you're not using a profile. And I still don't understand your aversion to profiles. They make the whole pushback process a lot more realistic (if the person who made the profiles made them as realistic as possible at least) Edited November 24, 2025Nov 24 by Tuskin38
November 24, 2025Nov 24 Anyone know if doing a quickedit on the map for pushback is saving that edit to the airports gsx ini file? I'd rather it did not as I have many custom ones for all 3rd party airports I fly to but sometimes on Vatsim, you get a different direction than normal to pushback and it might be a one off so I would prefer it did not save it. It's been getting consistently better and better over time. Do you want him to be like PMDG and charge us every time he sneezes at his product, or go long stretches without anything at all happening? He could post 12 page long posts about how he waxed his keyboard while describing his thinking about how to make a GSX character jump out of the emergency exit during pre-flight sometime in the next 3 years. Just let the man work. Please. Another chap said he gave up on predicting when they would happen and decide EVERY DAY to run LiveUpdate. I left GSX 6 months ago and yes I hope the updates are very infrequent. My sim install rarely changes anything ever so no, I don't want updates that take 2 minutes frequently from any app. Edited November 25, 2025Nov 25 by Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync.
