In fact, in the very topic of the post it clearly states that this add-on is an Orbx production. The title of the YouTube trailer is "Jurassic World: Archipeligo by Orbx" (emphasis added), and all the promotional screenshots are watermarked with Orbx's logo. Thanks, SeedyL, MSFS Community Manager Looking forward to official MSFS account instagram postings and full length, branded, flightsimulator.com articles about other developer's products in the future, especially since official media from MSFS talking about and advertising these products for their platform magically isn't an endorsement. Thanks. Edited December 5, 2025Dec 5 by STK

Maybe instead of trying to imply that he's being dishonest, you should actually spend some time getting your facts straight. So MS promoted something because it got released on the marketplace....who cares? Do you know if Orbyx requested the extra promotional push for a price? Do you really think these things make more money than planes and real world scenery? If you don't like it, don't buy it. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.

Thanks. Hello @STK, You can scroll through the MSFSOfficial Instagram page right now and find numerous posts promoting the products of several different third-party vendors including Turtle Beach, Orbx, FlightFX, NextLevelRacing, Tobii, Yawman, and more. There are also promotional videos for third-party products on the Official MSFS YouTube channel including Elgato, PMDG, and Honeycomb Aeronautical. On the flightsimulator.com website, you can find numerous articles promoting third-party products from vendors including Thrustmaster, Tobii, NextLevelRacing, and Pimax. None of the products featured in any of these promotional materials hosted on official MSFS platforms were developed by Microsoft or Asobo. Just because we use our platforms to help boost the signal of some products that we think are of interest to MSFS users doesn't mean we were also responsible for creating those products ourselves. Thanks, SeedyL, MSFS Community Manager Thanks - my overall point has been lost or obfuscated, but understood. Looking forward to your future "signal boosting" (endorsement) of dinos, horror movies, and other pop-culture items that aren't based in reality.

Nothing lost or obfuscated, what you’re seeing is reasoned and reasonable push back. We all understand your point, because you’ve repeated it four times in the last hour. I’m sure this isn’t the last tie-in. Who knows, maybe MSFSxPredator next? I wouldn’t touch it but it wouldn’t stop me enjoying the clouds to the west of me in a basin while my DA40 pops out a breaker for me to notice. It’s sad that the very existence of (literally) a few temporary and trivial merchandising events means you’ll experience the same carefully developed realism but not be able to enjoy it anymore because somebody, somewhere, is having the kind of fun that doesn’t appeal to you. You have my sympathies. Edited December 6, 2025Dec 6 by scotchegg i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

When the next iteration, or maybe the iteration after that, of MSFS is focused on Hollywood IP and cool things for the kids at the expense of realism, then I hope you enjoy it. Indifference to this stuff now opens up those doors. Enjoy the game in the meantime, and happy holidays. Stranger things indeed. Edited December 6, 2025Dec 6 by STK

Indifference to this stuff now opens up those doors. Enjoy the game in the meantime, and happy holidays. Stranger things indeed. Only one going in circles is you I'm afraid. There is no "focusing" on stuff like Hollywood, and nothing is being done here by MS/Asobo at the "expense of realism", no matter how many times you repeat these hyperbolic takes. Your assertion that MS/Asobo were spending dev resource on add-ons like the Jurassic one got shot down, so then you moved on to whining about the fact that it was made visible by MS/Asobo on their channels. Then you were told that they do that for all kinds of add-on so that angle of yours fell flat too. You can't seem to handle the fact that a sim platform can have extraneous/fun stuff in addition to the core simulation stuff. If that somehow makes you feel like less of a "serious simmer" then I guess you better use another sim 🤷♂️ Edited December 6, 2025Dec 6 by lwt1971 Len 1980s: Sublogic FS II on C64 ---> 1990s: Flight Unlimited I/II, MSFS 95/98 ---> 2000s/2010s: FS/X, P3D, XP ---> 2020+: MSFS Current system: i9 13900K, RTX 4090, 64GB DDR5 4800 RAM, 4TB NVMe SSD

It clearly says, "Jurassic World: Archipelago by Orbx." If the title isn't clear enough, further on in that article, it says, "Orbx, in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, is excited to welcome you on a new journey of Jurassic World: Archipelago discovery in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024." Where does it say Microsoft and Asobo were involved in developing that add-on? Why are you spreading rumors that Microsoft or Asobo are involved in developing this add-on? By posting that page, MSFS/Asobo is marketing/endorsing/promoting that addon regardless of if they coded it. Perhaps they didn't do the modeling or coding and I concede that I may have been incorrect in that regard, but they are doing these other words, that I recommend you look up. The community rep said that MSFS did not market the addon (quoted me earlier and said I'm 100% right), but evidence to the contrary was then easily provided. It's also seen on their official instagram. MSFS promotes other addons too - some contribute towards realism in the spirit of MSFS and some don't. Anything that promotes fantasy is not "as real as it gets" and dilutes the program. Enjoy your dinosaurs, I'll enjoy my realistic scenery and aircraft that reflect reality. Kids these days.... They also promoted the ini A340 and the FlightFX Citation X released on the marketplace for example. But they have no hand in developing those things, it's just advertisement for a partner's marketplace addon. The ORBX Jurassic Park addon is not at the same thing as the Halo, Top Gun, Dune and now Stranger Things promotions Microsoft have done for the sim. In fact the JP addon was an ORBX store exclusive for several months before it was released on the Marketplace. Edited December 6, 2025Dec 6 by Tuskin38
