All I said was we’re getting a lot of noise from the parts of the sim other than the core elements like weather and dynamics etc, compared to what we used to get from the deep dive videos. Still many bugs and regressions outstanding too… As mentioned, i support this sim but will call things out when need be especially if they are outstanding a year on. Why you got soo upset is beyond me but you’re a big boy/girl you’ll be right. Edited December 6, 2025Dec 6 by rick celik

Mr. Celik wants me to "go away". I mean, I've been on Avsim for over 20 years. What's the likelihood of me "just going away"? Yeah, not going to happen.

December 6, 2025Dec 6 I’ve never watch Stranger Things, probably would have no interest in this. However! Last night my daughter was talking about watching Stranger Things, and I mentioned there was a Stranger Things / MSFS collab (me trying to be the cool dad using that term) coming out and she’s now really excited to try it out. That is exactly why they do things like this. And the side benefit is I get to have my daughter interested in my hobby, for a bit anyway. People have just been pointing out that you're taking thing way out of context. A Stranger Things collab is not going to speed up or slow down the features you want. You're a commercial member so it is surprising that you cannot wrap your head around the fact that programmers working on getting the sim in the shape it should have been at launch will not have a lot of time to spare to give us all the things we'd like to see added to it. From day one, Jorg said if he had to do it again, he'd have the sim in beta for about a year first and it looks like his estimation was spot on considering how things are in SU4. Jorg and has also said multiple times that once the sim was in a stable state, they would start to knock out items on the wishlist. They've been very transparent about how they're handling the sim. If you expected the surprise to be weather radar with tilt then that's on you. Ok when did I ever say weather radar with a tilt 🤣 or you just being another fan with the others… read my posts and you will understand what I meant. ILL say it slowly for you too, and repeat myself…. As mentioned and quoted many many many times over (unless they’ve been deleted by mods), I do not have an issue with these side gigs as they bring in revenue. I’m not going to list what I’m waiting on as I’ve repeated myself plenty of times. Go read before jumping to conclusions, I’ve seen you do it many times on these forums 🤡 Edited December 6, 2025Dec 6 by rick celik

Was it just billboards in the game advertising Borderlands, or were characters from that game popping out from behind trees and taking shots at the golfers? Just cosmetics that were optional, although of course there's multiplayer where your opponent could look silly. As someone who plays the game by myself, it had zero impact on my experience, just like this likely will have little to no impact on flight simmers (hopefully they don't do splash screens, but even so, I think people will survive the injustice). It isn't like someone is going to be flying into JFK on a realistic airliner and start seeing sci fi stuff on the horizon. I think people get things backwards with this. I think Netflix is trying to interest simmers in a show, not MS trying to push anything. I'm sure MS gets paid plenty for doing this. I doubt they really care much beyond that. It is like when a sports team throws a corporation's name on the stadium. It is just money. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF

Still many bugs and regressions outstanding too… Well, to put it simply: the part of the sim that could make noise on core elements like weather/dynamics/etc and doing deep dive videos have been busy with fixing up the horrible initial release state via SU1 to SU4 this year. And though they didn't make much noise on weather, they certainly made noise on flight and ground dynamics both on the release of 2024 and then also via the SUs (and that's coming to fruition in the 2024 native aircraft we're seeing recently). I really hope that after SU4 the core simulation team can get back to doing enhancements and new capabilities (at the very least even some of them). And for me, a weather focused SU or set of improvements would be great to see!, including also ATC re-work by the WT team they've hinted at previously, AI aircraft improvements, etc. Edited December 6, 2025Dec 6 by lwt1971 Len 1980s: Sublogic FS II on C64 ---> 1990s: Flight Unlimited I/II, MSFS 95/98 ---> 2000s/2010s: FS/X, P3D, XP ---> 2020+: MSFS Current system: i9 13900K, RTX 4090, 64GB DDR5 4800 RAM, 4TB NVMe SSD

MS bean counters say no, the money is in the hollywood and fantasy DLC, focus on that as there is a better return on investment for our shareholders. Next iteration of MSFS due. Bean counters say sales won't be good enough unless you focus more on fantasy and hollywood stuff from the get go. Don't just release a boring airplane game. Regular planes won't be dropped completely, but it won't be a priority. Development is prioritized based on estimated return on investment. @STK makes these seemingly sage prognostications while utterly ignoring established history. It’s a pity he can’t see the forest for the trees.
December 6, 2025Dec 6 Rick, I have to say you’re just being offensive and rude for no reason. Your actual point about the sim is lost in the snark and rudeness - it’s not really reflecting well. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

Barnstorming adventures from the 1920s and 30s are historically realistic and fun, landing challenges are maybe slightly less realistic but can have a basis in reality, use realistic assets, and are fun. Stunt flying is fun, movie filming using helos is fun. These things are what 2024 initially aimed for and advertised when it came out! More varied scenarios grounded mostly in reality that demonstrate the breadth of what is seen around the world in the aviation sector. Now we’re onto monsters, planets, aliens, dinosaurs, and who knows what else. If you can’t see the negatives to that scope creep then I’m sorry for you (and I hope you are far far away from a project management career). Bro, you’re forgetting how UNrealistic MSFS was at launch. the only High Fidelity simulation in it was the satellite imagery scenery and 3D models of aircraft But the Planes flew like kites, avionics were grossly inadequate AND didn’t work correctly, and judging by the clouds, the entire planet is covered in active volcanoes. yet here we are, six years later, and the base sim has steadily, continually matured into one of the most realistic flight simulations ever - in all areas. And this DESPITE the previous marketing tricks of the HALO Drop Ship and Ornithopter + Dune scenery (and whatever other ones I’m forgetting. Oh - like Top Gun! An unrealistic representation of an unrealistic movie!!!!). Once again, you’re conveniently ignoring established facts to rather incessantly cluck cluck like Chicken Little.
