Do we need to enable live traffic to get traffic?

No. Global Shipping 24 ist 'just' a community folder package. Drop and forget. I bought it through the FS24 marketplace and use it (like all my addons bought overthere) streamed.

I noticed no FPS hit even in crowded areas (NY or Tokyo, e.g.), it 'works' with GAIST and/or FS 24 live ship traffic, which both of them, by the way, cause my FPS to drop significantly.

was going to buy this off marketplace but noticed the price was £18.79 but on the seafront simulation website its £14.99. Ive never bought anything from marketplace, is it normall for stuff to be more expensive?

I'll buy it direct of the website but was just curious about the price difference.

I believe they're all generic Lakers.

I can't even get gaist working in 1024 though

I had the same issue too which is too bad since it was a great addon.

Does anyone own this?  Could they show me a pic of any the larger ships on the US great lakes (nearest airports would be KDLH/KSUW, CYAM/KANJ, KDET/CYQG, KBUF/KIAG, KMSS/CYUL, CYQB) - they follow the St Lawrence Seaway/River from the Atlantic Ocean and can end up all the way in Duluth MN/Superior WI

I've taken many photos over the years when I lived in Duluth.

I'm really liking this addon. Suddenly, flying into airports near the coast is so much more entertaining. Lots and lots of ships!

I completely agree - one of the best addons I bought recently, exceeding expectations. I mostly fly airliners so I’m not landing on them but I really like how they move around and populate the oceans everywhere.

I can see them from cruise altitude too, which makes crossing water far more entertaining. Flew out of Doha the other day and a big lit up ship was moving along the coast as I was lining up on the runway - it was quite the sight. Then flew over dozens more on departure. Very immersive! The latest update even fixed the odd ship doing 360s. I’d rather have this than broken default live traffic or ultra realistic GAIST which only appeared for me 10% of the time and was not visible from more than 3 miles away.

Exactly. Really exceeded expectations and is now firmly in my top addons list.

Flying from CYYJ to PAJN but no ships with the new SeaFront.

Any ideas?

EDIT:  looking at the interactive map there is no coverage in the North American Pacific: Global Shipping 24 Map | Seafront Simulations

Yeah, this is a stellar and highly recommended add-on, but it's missing cruise ships, freighters, trawlers etc in the inside passage waterways of southeast Alaska. Makes me wonder if Seafront is working on an add-on for this area?

I'll buy it direct of the website but was just curious about the price difference.

I’ve generally had the opposite experience, especially when it comes to sales.

I’ve gotten some fire sale deals like the Black Square Turbine Duke for $25 and the iB A300 for $35.

further, there are frequently sales on the MP that aren’t available on other stores, eg the Just Flight RJ or DCD Concorde at present.

it’s just a matter of price checking here and there, - and always stopping for a quick peek in the MP before flying. 😎

I also am an MP fan.

BTW, Seafront is great.  I leave the in-sim sea traffic slider @ medium for ferries and little boats.

Check the interactive map.  Not much up there as you say but I suspect routes are added all the time.

Q: Are the models new?

A: Vessels: Global Shipping 24 uses the same high-quality Vessels Core Library — but the set has increased from 54 variants in Global Shipping to over 90 in Global Shipping 24, covering the majority of commercial vessels found on real-world oceans and major trade routes. More are coming in post-launch updates too.
