  • I get where you’re coming from, and I agree with part of it: doing failures well is hard, and if they’re handled poorly they absolutely can feel like “game mechanics.” On the minor failures point

  • You’re not wrong — the existing 2020 version is a solid aircraft, and it does fly well in 2024. We’re proud of that. But the 2024 release isn’t a small patch or a “native checkbox” update. It’s e

  • AND a failures module??   Ok this is great!   @lwt1971 I don't own the 2020 model but I do own FSW's C414 and Sierra...love both....before that I have their Falcon 50 for P3D, FSW makes great stuff.

Love how they're making use of 2024's new CFD system based on detailed aircraft geometry (https://youtu.be/WQHdoswDuOU?t=57).

Deep systems, failures, etc too and a proper 2024 native re-build... looks like a compelling offering! The GA and bizjet scene for MSFS is *finally* flourishing.

For those who have used the 2020 version of this FSW jet, what's the consensus fidelity wise? In this video they say that the 2024 version is considerably better, so trying to gauge what that really means.

Emphasis on the CFD model is very nice to see too.

Between this and the FSReborn Phenom 300 and I don't know which one I'll fly more.  May just come down to how I feel on that particular day.  I haven't really been a Learjet guy for a while, but I flew the Lear in...was it FS4?  Or FS5?   Those old sims were but a fraction of what MSFS is today.  We're totally spoiled.

Great thanks for your feedback! And ya totally agree on being spoiled, what a time for flight simming!

Flying Learjets is hard work.

Personally it’s something I do for a challenge rather than for pleasure 🙂

I say that as someone who I think has tormented myself and bought every Learjet ever released, xtreme prototypes, FSW ,P3D and MSFS.

Going back to the early days of MSFS the default Learjet was always something you had to prove yourself on to be able to call yourself a real sim pilot.

The video above is worth a look for everyone interested in Hi Fi addons.

looks like these guys have dived deep into 2024’s features.

FWIW, this seems an excellent addon that matches my interests for short hop flights pretty dang well.

p.s., BETA release is sometime within the next week or so.

I have the 2020 version of the FSW Lear Jet. It flies well in 2024. Looking forward to what a native 2024 version will bring.

It looks to be a great upgrade from the 2020 version.

There are so many bizjets coming for 2024, the Phenom 300, Praetor 600, Lear 35, Lear 45, a few things I can't mention (lol), I think there's a dev making a global 7500 as well.

No failures is what stopped me from buying the 2020 version, deep system and failures will have me buying this time around

The existing version is already very good in 2024. I have no interest in failure modelling and although it would be nice to have a native version, I get the impressions this won't be a free upgrade. If so, there will have to be other improvements (although I'm not sure what that could be) before I would pay extra.

The video does talk about significant improvements to the flight model.

I hope one of those "things" is a King Air 😅

Yep. It’s CJ Simulations, the guy who makes the Eurofighter.

While that addon hasn’t garnered accolades for high fidelity (it’s kinda hard since, like the USAF F-22, the countries who operate it don’t share systems info about it, and the very few pilots who fly it will literally go to prison if they speak of more than well publicized superficialities).

but I do note that though I don’t have it, it has been frequently updated and improved. So points to CJ for that!

it’ll be interesting to see how his interpretation measures up to the other biz jets where fidelity standards are far easier to set and measure.

IMHO you hit the nail squarely on the head, Sir!

For me, the tipping point is the full implementation of CFD, to include control surfaces and such.

so as long as this reviews as well as it has in the past, they can count me in. 😎🤙

I'm interested to hear your take on this:   Aren't you interested in "reaching your destination is NOT guaranteed"?   Going A-to-B with no chance of failure ever can get a little mundane to me after a while.   To me it's just an added layer of realism when a relay might fail or a heater motor fails, even if it's 0.0001% likely.
