Maybe because Asobo modelled the -600. Was Blackbird going to develop the -500 one? That would have been interesting.

I'll be honest: I've just got the Carenado one for P3D last week, and I'm enjoying it more than the Asobo one. But the Carenado one is a -500, and both are equally as buggy...

The -500 is basically an analogue -600.

Notch, Auto props, etc.  Different FMS, probably a UNS-1 or GTN750, based on my RL experience with them.

  • As can be seen through the annual Navigraph surveys, the vast, vast majority of simmers (that at least will do a survey) want the latest modern jet airliners only. A developer takes a risk with anythi

  • I just want a Vickers Viscount.

  • I really, really hope that JustFlight considers doing a Dash-8. It would fit perfectly in their current lineup and fill a huge void.

Gotta check with the good old Flight 1 ATR for FS9/FSX

I was reading that Just Flight was developing an Avro Lancastrian. Then the alarm clock sounded, and it was time to wake up.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

I think had Blackbird continued with their venture - Their ATR would have been 5 times better then the current Asobo one. Asobo at the time said their "ATR" was going to be complex airliner which probably explains why BB cancelled theirs - unfortunately ATR from Asobo did not meet those expectations.

Didn't know about that😱

Nice bit of recollection, Luis, about that classic FS9/FSX ATR 72-500 from Flight1. I had it CD-ROM…🙂…recall the cover too..🙂

It was indeed a trend-setting (payware) rendition of a Turboprop airliner for our SIM.

Cheers…!

I'd like to see some of the older stuff:

Lockheed Electra, Convair 580, Britannia/CL44, F27/FH227, etc.

Thanks for proposing the Convair for MSFS…🙂…I had mentioned it earlier here, including the Turboprop 580.

I thought no one remembers that one…

My main excitement when I hear people mention the Electra is the possibility of that morphing into a P-3 / CP-140 😀

That plus flying Buffalo Airways Electra ops.

Majestic had an update in June of 2025. They're still working on the Dash 8. I've asked them and yes, they're still working on it.

In the meantime, the ATR I heard is a real fun plane to fly. 😅

Yep. A MilViz/BlackBird quality ATR would've been a proper propliner, instead of just another barely-supported half-baked Hans Hartmann deal...

Heck, they could still just re-labled it the "Professional" version and it'd probably sell well enough. But obviously they're closer to the numbers and disagree 😞

Problem is they frequently let themselves get behind and aren't first to market. Sometimes just by a matter of a few days, but it's rather constant. Which is a shame because they had quite a nice library of Hi Fi addons in FSX/P3D, and now most of that has been released by other devs.

I wonder if we will? Whilst there's a few obvious gaps, the devs are running out of Boeings and Airbuses to make now...
