5 years in, and no quality 3th party propliners?

Featured Replies

Are there realy so low interest in this types of aircrafts? The sim is getting flooded with jet airliners and military aircrafts, but still no high quality turboprop airliner. (Im not counting in the Asobo ATR, in my opinion its very lackluster in many things, like no simulated betarange, flightmodel is weird, etc...

  • As can be seen through the annual Navigraph surveys, the vast, vast majority of simmers (that at least will do a survey) want the latest modern jet airliners only. A developer takes a risk with anythi

we haven't heard from Majestic (Q400) since June.  Not sure if that is good or bad.

Well... there is the Ini YS-11, it has issues with engine sound though, but a Martin 404 would be cool, too many A319/20's

Hope so, it would make them so much money, for the way they have put customers first they would deserve it.

Maybe Just Flight will get a round to their Fokker F-27 or HS 748 one day ?

That’s what we need ! 👍

I agree 100%. A decent regional propliner is what I am waiting for. Saab 340 was just the right kind of airplane but the quality… ATR is what it is. NAMC is not the right one if you fly mostly in Europe, Canada, Caribbean and sometimes in USA (like I do) because of the liveries it can have.

For the time being I fly PC-12, TBM and 404 and dreaming of the Fokker 50, Dash 8, Saab 340/2000, HS 748, ATR, EMB 120 or something like that. Good to know I am not the only one.

At this point, it’s reasonable to conclude that the majestic Q400 is effectively a dead project.
There have been no substantive updates from the developer for long time, and the continued lack of clarity is unhelpful to the community. Keeping the project in a perpetual “working on it” state is also problematic, as it discourages other developers from investing time and resources into creating a modern Q400/300 for current simulators.
We’re now approaching six years with no real progress or communication. That level of silence is difficult to justify and, frankly, not very professional.
If majestic software has no intention of moving forward, it would be better to say so clearly and allow others to step in. A high-quality Q400/300 from a developer like iniBuilds or Just Flight would be very welcome, and the market is clearly there.

I loved the PMDG Jetstream 4100 with the added FS2Crew addon and would love to see that plane in MSFS. The Majestic Dash 8 with the FS2Crew is equally missed. Other planes that had Co-Pilots and crew making a two (to three) person flight deck crew work with just a single human operator was the A2A B377 and A2A B-17 (which someone created a voice command and do feature).

It is hard to go back to those platforms that they were supported on for both the visuals and OOM issues but if I every build another VR sim, I might try and add them back but would rather see them native in MSFS.

Agreed, I’d love to see a Dash 8, B1900 etc.

The dash 8 problem is that as long as Majestic is silent, no other dev will likely take it on and risk the Majestic version being completed and going up for sale when they are part way through developing theirs.  Hopefully majestic either delivers or clears the air soon.

I bought the YS11 to try and scratch the turboprop itch.  It’s good, especially for the price point, but it’s also a pretty obscure aircraft from a North American and European perspective where I do most of my flying.

Add me to those who loved the PMDG Jetstream.

Who knows, maybe 2026 will be the year the ATR finally gets patched to a stable, reliable state.

I think Jorg said it would be updated to 2024 but that doesn't mean it will be improved.

The PMDG Jetstream 41 in FSX is the only turboprop plane that I have ever done a reasonably decent amount of flying in. Turboprops are not really my thing, but I absolutely loved that one. The chances of PMDG resurrecting it are about as likely as winning the lottery, but I would love to see it....provided that they include the proper FMS. I really do not like those modern GNS/GTX units (or whatever they are called).

Or perhaps a Vickers Vanguard?
