January 14Jan 14 Did anyone at MS/Asobo say there was going to be another major version release of MSFS? If that news was public, then ew engine is not likely … maybe bettter PG so that bridges are actual bridges and trees are trees not blobs). What I would like to see: Aspect correction (flying the world bubble, too bubble like). Better PG so that bridges are actual bridges and trees are trees not blobs that the AI engine couldn’t determine (really need to step up the accuracy). Better flight physics especially inertia simulation and ground friction, improved in MSFS 2024 but still not accurate enough. Better native ATC. Much more open and feature rich SDK … come on, 10,000 3rd party developers can produce more content in less time than a handful of Asobo developers … I’m getting old and time is not on my side. Give them the support and tools they request. Much better path finding for AI and ground AI (driving thru aircraft is so 2001). Improve atmospherics … haze layers are still not accurate. Stop being obsessed with end user hardware and don’t restrict the product because of XBOS or PS5 (especially not the UI) … make it to scale from low to high end hardware. My current activity level for flight simulation is 45% MSFS 2024, 45% XP12.4.x, 10% P3D 5.4. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. - Carl Sagan

January 14Jan 14 The easy guess would’ve 2028 to use the four year gap again. I hope there is one, as it will point to the continued health of the franchise. Hopefully this one is given enough time in the oven to cook though, and not released early like 2024 was. However I do hope that whenever it comes out, it’s truly more of an evolution than a revolution and that addons are actually easily made compatible, unlike what was promised vs what the reality was in the 2020 to 2024 upgrade. January 14Jan 14 Unless there is some sort of ground breaking tech I do not foresee any reason for Asobo/MS to release a new entire titled sim. Yep agree, 2024 was just a massive DLC at the end of the day. So unless they have a revolutionary new graphical and/or physics engine then they may as well stick to regular DLCs to get money. But then no one expected 2024 so who knows what they have planned, whatever happens if they release a new version I am one customer that will not be buying on day one.
