  2. Have at least a simple 1-line display to advise the current sim rate (it's insane that they provide sim rates, but absolutely no native way of determining your current sim rate).

I had an extra up/down switch on a controller. Up is simrate increase and Down in simrate decrease. Now I click the cogwheel on that assignment  line and turn off repeat. So now if I move the switch up it increases sim rate exactly one step UP, no matter how long I hold it up. The sim rate will not run away with me when i move that switch (a hat actually) up.

ATC and AI aircraft behaviour would be a pretty good start. Any further optimisations would be very welcome. Maybe there are some needed to make DLSS 4.5 better.

I agree - bring XP12 weather into MSFS and it will be fantastic.  I will say MSFS weather is not bad, as it can portray some wonderful effects, but XP12 latest weather update takes the skies to another level.  So I agree with you - take MSFS weather to the next level, it needs it.

We don't need X-Plane's clouds, we need true to life clouds that can be done without sacrificing resolution at closer ranges.

I would vote for better weather, with (in order of priority, from highest to lowest):

  1. Accurate visibility when the visibility is low. Too often, the in-game visibility is way too high, especially at night. 1/4 mile should look like it does in real life: impenetrable soup. For example, runway lights in the USA are standardized to be 200' apart. Thus, with RVR 800, you should see no more than 4 lights ahead of you.
  2. Accurate cloud volumetrics. Often, the vertical dimension of an overcast layer appears to be 1000' thick and you can see ground detail below it, so we have either partial coverage, translucent clouds, or both. IRL, you can get overcast layers that are 10,000 feet thick and you can't see the ground AT ALL when you're within one. We need that.
  3. More variability in cloud types. We have lots of "cotton ball" clouds, which get clumped together to represent every possible type of cumulus cloud, but we don't yet have a convincing stratus type. When the sky is overcast, instead of bunches of little cumulus clouds, we need a flat-ish stratus type (that you can't see through, see #2 above).
  4. Thicker and more meaningful precipitation graphics, stuff that can obscure your vision when it's really coming down.

That's my wish list, although I do like the suggestion above about a configurable start button, so that you could start at the same location with the same settings in just one click.

Fix the polygon, blocky  trees, This is very distracting, and improve the ATC for GA aircraft.

Now that SU4 has been released (great job Asobo) what’s on your wishlist for the next Sim Update? I would like to see them focus on bugs, especially with existing aircraft and career mode. They have put a ton of time into these areas, but we need another big push to get over the finish line in these two areas. Additionally, more focus on improving weather, ATC, traffic and performance.

I am fine if they don’t release any significant new features, and just focus on fixing and improving what we already have.

Let us remind ourselves that If Asobo fixes EVERYTHING, there would be no point in upgrading to the next version.

Why do you say that?

P3D has that support for many years and it was based on ESP version of FSX and later modified by LM.  It’s entirely doable and for the most part the only way to get surround monitor system with acceptable performance.  Genlock master, a good server and several client computers rendering output and a 10-100Gb network isn’t “new” technology and has been around for a while … isn’t Boeing using MSFS now … they could make a commercial simulator (not military) and tap into that revenue but might ruffle a few feathers or maybe a blessing.

Anyway, I wouldn’t rule it out.

Yep, 10,000+ content providers can get more features to market and faster than a handful of MS/Asobo developers … just open up the SDK.
