That is disappointing. Weather is one thing they should be working really hard on improving. It is a MAJOR part of the 'sim'. I hope they aren't removing stuff to make it work better on consoles. I am going to have to seriously stop spending money on this sim if they keep regressing.

They still have dew point in the game. Humidity and dew point are redundant i'd imagine?

  • Hi folks, I saw a few questions earlier in this thread about this release note: Removed weather panel humidity slider since humidity is no longer used. We followed up with the Asob

You comment away all you want Ken.  Don't let people shut you down.  They just want to live in their own echo chamber and constantly use straw man arguments and insults to try to make you feel ashamed

  • A lot of good stuff in this beta though I was hoping we would see some effort towards fixing ATC and AI aircraft behaviour which should really have been sorted this long after release.

No humidity? What next?

I don't think density altitude is simulated is it? I mean that's a huge factor in the summer, not in this game though. Doesn't humidity need to be present to properly simulate that?

Exactly, who here has seen a Metar with humidity. I suspect the sim will derive humidity from temp/dewpoint spread. Is there a dewpoint setting in custom weather?

I just checked security settings and you should be able to post - what issue are you seeing?

Regarding Tobii, they switched mapping of “EYE TRACKING RESET” in Keyboard 2024 Transversal profile from Alt+8 to Lshift+Space – can you try a reset?

I re-did my key mapping to what it was before the update, "Tracking Reset and Tracking On/Off"  I just couldn't look up or down no matter what i tried. I guess i could just work around it until its figured out.

Makes it kind of hard when thats how you fly...

Seems VRAM issue is totally resolved. IMO this is the best SU Beta so far in terms of performance.

So what's the word regarding the pmdg 737/777? What about the fenix?

Hopefully this one solves the black lines over the water? And also the white border on every screen when you focus your camera on them. They fixed that in 2020 but its back again in 2024

Absolutely not redundant.  Dew point is the absolute temperature measure of when water vapor converts to liquid.  Humidity is the measurement of how saturated the air is.  These have very different impacts on aircraft performance.

In fact, it got worse— they removed humidity for some reason. Clown show 🤡

You can post about this in the SU5 beta forum where the MSFS developers will actually read about it and might do something about it: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/c/su5/389.  Complaining here at Avsim is pointless, as almost none of the MSFS team comes here (aside from Seedy and Matt Nischan, but neither of the two are going to forward your humidity complaint to the MSFS team responsible for humidity in the SU5 beta).

I don't see a single post about humidity in the SU5 beta forum.  If it's that important, I would have thought someone would have posted about humidity by now. But it doesn't seem to be very important, since there is zero posts about humidity in the SU5 beta forum.

This morning Houston, Texas or KEFD was 17 degree Celsius with dew point of 17 degrees AND humidity of 100% on the KEFD Metar. When weather is 1:1 with dew point that is 100% humidity.

When liquid reaches equilibrium, and thats what creates fog. KEFD was 1/4 visibility with fog under 100% humidity conditions
