  • Hi folks, I saw a few questions earlier in this thread about this release note: Removed weather panel humidity slider since humidity is no longer used. We followed up with the Asob

You comment away all you want Ken.  Don't let people shut you down.  They just want to live in their own echo chamber and constantly use straw man arguments and insults to try to make you feel ashamed

  • A lot of good stuff in this beta though I was hoping we would see some effort towards fixing ATC and AI aircraft behaviour which should really have been sorted this long after release.

Great performance in SU5b1. But back to SU4 until they fix Tobii and CP becomes compatible.

That's like one comment in a very long thread, that mentions humidity in one word, but doesn't even explain in detail the loss of the humidity function? Furthermore, nobody can even vote on that comment!

The point is, @UAL4life should have created a separate thread in the SU5 beta forum, that details the loss of the humidity function, and why it's important to keep it, so that the developers understand why users want to keep it, and why users are annoyed that it has been removed.  Then the community can upvote this, to get it to the attention of the developers.

A single mention of the word humidity, which doesn't even seem to be the same complaint that @UAL4life is making, in a very long thread about general issues, without the ability to even upvote that comment, isn't going to get the attention of the developers working on the SU5 beta.

For Tobii's lovers and those who don't go on the Beta Official forum, Tobii malfunction in SU5. "Feedback logged" https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/tobii-tilt-pitch-tracking-behavior-unalterable-via-profiles-sliders/757648/16

Exactly. I don't know why people enrol in betas and then complain that this and that are broken.

I thought that is what happens in beta programs?

Because Asobo have a factual history of breaking things (generally) during betas and then not fixing them during that same beta, hence people get a tad annoyed when things used to work suddenly don't work in the beta which really shouldn't be happening in the first place.

See my post earlier where they've finally fixed an issue in this beta they broke in 2021....!

On the Performance topic I wouldn't read too much into amazing improvements right now, there's a trend during these betas that they start off with amazing performance but then it gradually drops off up to public release.

On the Humidity well they've not actually explained why they've removed it, which really does need an explanation but alas it's Asobo!

Nice, even more justification to keep my current hardware. Free performance improvements are always a blessing.

< 330 Watt whole system power while flying, eat that 5090.

Yes, we all know it is a beta, but it is an indication of where they are going, and my first impressions aren't good.  I cannot see any good changes.  Cockpits still 'warp' into shape due to the delayed rendering still not being fixed, the LOD is still as bad as ever with objects disappearing in plain view at medium distances...  I could go on, but I won't waste my time on it  any more, it is all very disappointing to say the least.  Tobii is borked obviously but that will be fixed, but not sure if the rest ever will.

At this stage, with the long patch notes but nothing that really shows for it, I am beginning to think the developers are having Microsoft in the net and not really improving anything but just introducing the odd bugs to make it look like they are working on something.

Not sure what other people expected out of this beta, but the vast majority probably won't get anything.  Chase down the patch notes and see if it matches what you see or experience.  Its tosh.
At this stage, I am not even going to leave the beta, but just not touch it at all.  Probably saved me a couple of hundred this month with the add-ons I lined up to buy in expectation of bug / playability issues being fixed, so that is one good thing.  All the best for the beta and SU5 folks!

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Absolutely not redundant.  Dew point is the absolute temperature measure of when water vapor converts to liquid.  Humidity is the measurement of how saturated the air is.  These have very different impacts on aircraft performance.

Humidity hasn't worked since MSFS2024s release, seems the slider actually went AWOL in SU4 but they chose now in SU5 to tell everyone, weird. I was hoping weather improvements were being made, not being made redundant, certainly needs an explanation from Seb in the next Q&A whenever that is.

It's not playing nicely on my PC. Stutters and pauses. Rolling back.

😞

Mine is ok @jarmstro, actually appears smoother with the AI traffic being injected by BATC.

Problems so far only those caused by the latest Experimental channel FSLabs buses, not related to SU5, which causes all of the airbuses (FSLabs) to be INVISIBLE in the sim 😕

You can always go back to P3D

I can't go back to something I never owned, nice intellectual response though 🙂

I only tried the Fenix and PMDG 737. Both the same. Fine on the ground but pauses after take off. Maybe I need a new system. SU4 is smooth so I'll sick with that for now.
