My point is that there is no need to choose. Top end PCs have the power to do it all.

I’m not quite sure how the power of an end user PC fits into a discussion of how a development team chooses to spend resources while building a plane ?

    Oh grow up.

  • Many people mention, how smooth the performance with the Aero A340 is. Even on big airports (main destinations for the 600). I guess the performance was one main reason, they don't use high res text

The guy in that video needs glasses. The difference is quite large in favour of the IniBuilds where texturing is concerned. I immediately noticed it when i loaded the A346, it feels "X-Plane-ish" whil

The odd thing is that the texture design is done by Atarium.

His liveries and cabin packs are among the best in the freeware community.

It seems making flightdeck textures demands another skillset.

it wouldnt be the first, second, third or fourth time aerosoft has undelivered though is it

Those teams cost money and potentially other resources so even if they are entirely separate there’s no way to avoid having to make decisions on how to balance your budget between them.

True. And if someone actually releases a rather well below average interior modelling and texturing in the year 2024 with all the possibilities of MSFS 2024 and sells that for likely 70$+ upwards, a bunch of very bad decisions have been made.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I agree but unless you’re a dev like Fenix or TFDi who can hire someone like HUES to make a huge roaster of liveries for your new model its an effective way to kill the popularity of an aircraft.

there’s a reasonably large roster of liveries now rendered ineffective with the new maddog update. Leonnardo seems to be barely getting an ROI so it made sense they didn’t hire a bunch of livery makers to make the transition easier.

Im still very much happy with the maddog happy but saddened by the reduced livery availability.

I went through something similar when the DCS F-5 got a 3D update. It’s an old addon, so there were dozens of liveries that were instantly incompatible.

IIRC, there were only 4-6 liveries included with the new update…

But while that was unfortunate, it had literally no effect on my willingness/happiness to fly the addon.

I can’t understand anyone who would give up flying because of the paint on the outside  🤙

I have always used the PMDG house scheme for the Boeings, so additional paint jobs are irrelevant to me. All of my flights are test flights, so no passengers are allowed, and no cargo is transported. I just burn fuel for fun

I don’t fly with the PMDG liveries because there’s always something suitable for my needs, esp with the BBJ 😎

I've not been on here for a few days - so I watched the preview videos for the AS A346 from the usual 'elite' bunch of Youtubers, before reading these comments.  The YouTubers were all falling over themselves to universally praise everything about the addon - including the visuals.  I was watching these vids thinking 'really?'   I saw the low res textures and questionable quality (the total lack of any wear or colour degradation on the cockpit textures looked poor to me) but there wasn't a mention in the video, nor in the comments, which consisted of such comments as: "tHiS iS aMaZiNg! imma gonna b the 1st 2 by it!!". 😄

So coming here and reading this thread, it was refreshing to see that others had similar views to mine about the visuals!

Trial by Avsim is real and just. 🤣

Eh, while you're all refusing to buy it because the autopilot knobs aren't quite round enough I'll be flying the best rendition of an A340 available on a home simulator and enjoying every minute of it 😂

Developer of Self-Loading Cargo - The Cabin Crew and Passenger Simulation Addon for MSFS, X-Plane, P3D and FSX

Technically it just released. (At least if the annoncement on Aerosoft One is to be believed)

But as usual Aerosoft managed to botch something up. The traffic on the shop site, quite predictably is so high, that the shop is not reachable any longer.

Who could have foreseen this? So unexpected...

So I can't even tell you guys the price they are asking.

Edit: And now their entire website gave up and is not reachable any longer.

Edit of the Edit: Now I have access to the shop but the A340-600, despite being announced as "Available now" on Aerosoft One, and having its shop page up still says: "Currently not available".

Must be really difficult to coordinate a release through webshop these days...

some people, like some companies, just strive for mediocrity. i was done buying mediocrity after i realised i overpaid for the inibuilds a350 by about £65. youtubers are nothing more than grifters pushing for a pay day. to all the simmers that are excited by this release, great, fill your boots. keep rewarding.

Generalize much?

I follow two german Lufthansa pilots, one retired, one on sick leave, who do stream and have both given the test version. One of them never gives recommendations, he just presents and says: "Decide for yourself" and the other one used to fly this aircraft in real life until going back to the A320.

They both seemed impressed and pretty happy, but were also pointing out that the texturing is not the best and needs some work. But their main focus naturally lies on the flightmodel, the stability of performance and how accurately the systems are modeled. And there were no bigger complaints from them.

That's enough for me to add this to my fleet.

Thank you, I will, and I'm pretty sure I know what I'll be getting: A long-haul Airbus with excellent systems simulation, with some great quality-of-life feature (state saving, "jump to leg", custom replay), though with a mediocre visual model. That tradeoff works for me. If it doesn't work for you, that's fine too. I just don't understand why you're apparently so irritated by people who are choosing to buy this aircraft?

per discord release is imminent. already listed in their shop though w/o pricing yet

Can you say, “Leonardo’s Maddog 2020”?

Well, whole aerosoft.com is down (at least for me). 🙂
They should have known by now...
