Socal is slowly getting covered with quality airports. Now if only Mr vbazzilio can come to his darn senses and delete all that static aircraft from his airports 🤣 Yes I think their California airports are relatively new, as I'm always looking for airports to add to Vincent's already great freeware library. I'm fairly sure TOA is new, because I always look for that airport as a great destination after the LAX VFR route. They seem to have SoCal airports popping up all over. Just a heads up on TOA, it has static aircraft, including some fighters that look to be part of the flight museum there. I like it, but it was a little pricy for a GA only airport. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF

March 11Mar 11 I never pay much attention to the devs who make the airports that I buy 🙂 So can't tell you who made them, but from a combination of the Marketplace and Simmarket I just bought:- Bratislava (Slovakia) Prague (Czech Republic) Sofia (Bulgaria) Budapest (Hungary) Tirana (Albania) Ohrid (Macedonia) Varna (Bulgaria) .....so yes, an eastern European vibe. This is how I tend to buy airports. I tend to focus on one specific area and grab a lot of airports for it, then fly between my new purchases for a week or so. Then I move on to somewhere else, rinse & repeat. 🙂 Recently, I've done this for Norway, Sweden, Malaysia, Iran, North East US, Denmark, Libya and the Caribbean. For the UK, I have 42 payware airports (large to very small) and another 30 (decent) freeware. For Eastern Canada I have almost all payware that's available and I also have around 40 payware airports for Germany, where I fly a lot. Fun fact - for some odd reason (nothing prejudicial) I have never bought a single airport in France, and I've only flown there about 3 times in 21 years. I can't explain why - I think it's that the smaller GA airport names are so fussy and consonant-heavy, they just don't appeal 😄 Ie. the town is called "gelette" but the GA airport is called "Ile-de-la-grency-vanouche" and I forget what is what! March 12Mar 12 Just EBBR. Since I have no clue how other airports look like compared to the standard ones in 2024 I'll stick with those. A gate is a gate. March 12Mar 12 Where I live, a drink out cost about the same as an addon airport. So its easy to rationalize investing into my hobby. Now with MSFS offering the world in true to life texture instead of landclass tiles as well as Say Intentions offering AI and local accents for both IFR and VFR, I'm doing flightseeing tours and purchasing as many good quality airports as I can along my routes. The only main freeware airports I use are from Vincent Bazillio and I have sent him funds for his contributions as his work is highly worthy of it. Being an eye-candy enthusiast and lover of small GA planes, mega sized airports don't interest me unless they have a great modeled FBO area. So the few airports I added to my collection in the past few days have been: KHIO 7S3 KPVD (Dreamflight) I usually pickup airports on sale unless I'm "in the area" and will be flying there in the near future. I had to make a Google Earth map just to keep track of the airports I have installed. I know I've brought scenery in the past for P3D on sale and never even visited them as I had plans on it but then MSFS came out. My goal is to have airports that are close enough to go from one to another in the Comanche or Baron within 2 hours of each other and my main areas of flying are the West Coast and New England in the USA, Greece, Oz and New Zealand. i9-13900K O/C | ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero | 32GB DDR5 6000MHz Kingston FURY | RTX 4090 24GB | 2x SSD M.2 (2TB Samsung 990 PRO) 1x SSD (4TB Samsung 870 EVO) | Windows 11 Home | H20: HydroLux PRO:HardLine Tubing| 1000w PSU | Starlink WiFi

Yes I have the Aerosoft version but only because I know how the airport looks like, and that's the only reason why I bought it. For the others, well, like I said, it's from gate to gate with a large flying gap in between so it doesn't really matter, at least not to me. Please tell me I'm not the only one in that case? Which are the airports you bought and finally never used till today? I was just gonna post the same thing! I’ve made an (in)firm promise to myself not to buy any more scenery until I’ve actually visited all the ones I already have! I’ve extended that to include the Hand Crafted airports included in FS24 Premium Deluxe, which IIRC is around 150-ish…? I’ve somewhat applied that to aircraft addons, as well. Has to be something significantly dissimilar to what I already own, or something offered at a much higher fidelity level than before, or some type of Flash Sale with a huge discount. Preferably all of the above 😎 In re scenery, I’m finding a great deal of satisfaction with an occasional 1 month subscription to FlightSim.to. I tag airfields/helipads that catch my interest, then I mass download them during the subscription period. I guess that averages out to maybe $10/mo, or so…?
