Well, be worried, it's not well optimized. I have a 4070 and never had vram warning popup with the -800, with this ac I get it every flight. And this is with all my 3rd party airports with .KTX2 textures reduced to 2048 pixels. SN737
April 10Apr 10 I'm curious if we, 2k users, should start worrying about VRAM. 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.
April 10Apr 10 Not sure if this will be helpful, but checking the 737-800 versus 737-700 cargo versions with same airport and same view, both use similar GPU memory, If anything the 737-800 is using slightly less (about 1 gig). In my case typical is around 20 gig. April 10Apr 10 So can someone explain to me why the -700 is more than double the price of the -600? I guess I'm asking if there's really something more I'm receiving to explain the extra cost, or is it mostly based on popularity of the variant? I haven't purchased a PMDG aircraft in maybe 10 years or more... am considering it again now. Edited April 10Apr 10 by hangar Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons

Along with blended and split scimitar winglets. This is also why the -900 sits in the middle of the pricing.

Thanks for the info. Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons

The cabin and exterior are improved, totally a waste of money IMHO. I don't think the new textures are in this version. As of 09APR26/2000Z the 737-600/800 and 900 HDU enabled builds are still in testing. April 10Apr 10 Testflight was good. No troubles here with RTX3080Ti. Well done, PMDG! it is a good 737-700.

They might do that to save resources though. Don't waste your money on a 5080. 16GB is not going to make a difference. Go 5090 or find an older 4090. I have a 4080 and get the resources message often (1440p). But I recommend MSFS Auto FPS as that can help keep vram lower during intensive times like landing and takeoff - when I use that it does help negate the vram consumption. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
April 10Apr 10 The price of Nvidia graphics cards beggars belief. I just checked out the RTX 4080 on the CEX website (so, not even brand new), and the cost is between £800 and £975. Then I decided to have a look at the RTX 4090...... Not much change from £2000.....for any of them on the site I need to sit down.... April 10Apr 10 Just completed a successful flight on my routine 'test' route, EBOS Ostend to EGKK London Gatwick in VR. No surprises - everything worked as expected and I made a successful ILS landing at runway 26L. In general, I would say that I noticed no PC performance issues at all other than, maybe, a little mouse lag when I was programming the MCDU - but I've noticed that on a number of aircraft so I think that is more likely to be my end and not PMDG's. I would say that, while perfectly happy with the discounted purchase (I had the 700 in MSFS2020), I wouldn't have actually known that this was a different model, either in textures or performance, if someone had booted it up for me and handed me the headset and controls. But overall, happy chappy. Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset
