Question concerning what tools are used to create addons
NZ255 replied to tamsini's topic in Add On Developer's Forum
What are you trying to achieve? For scenery have a look a a step by step tutorial http://www.windowlight.co.nz/store/index.php?main_page=page&id=5&chapter=1&zenid=098ca86b8d7039f3d6fd191054835caa -
Far out, this amazing tech demo and all you guys can think of is ads in the sim!? Hopefully devs will implement better uses than that! There's lots of potential here.

I give--why are cloud textures NOT masked from manifesting MSAA effects?
NZ255 replied to Noel's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
The guys at LM do know about the cloud AA issue - I can't for the life of me find the thread but from what I recall it was a technical issue with the rendering engine(?) that didn't allow you to just flag an object for it to have AA or not. If anyone can find it I'd be interested to re-read it. -
I would like FlyTampa Sydney but I don't think it'll be finished in time

You shouldn't be running the actual Speech Recognition program while in the sim

SimBreif for me....not sure how accurate it is but I arrive with enough I'd be interested. Is there nothing in the manual?

Some more feedback, and a couple of feature requests

As stated in the manual, the trigger is "lights and doors" -

Isn't it in the P3D SDK? I swear I've seen some method that returns terrain or something in an SDK... or am I going mad... Either way, looks good -
Thanks, Byran. I've run 3 training sessions so far. What I mean is in the checklists. The two things I get caught up on is reading back the Takeoff speeds and Trim in the before start checklist. eg "Take off speeds" I say " vee one 144, rotate (should it be "vee rotate" or "vee ar") 150, vee two 155" but it doesn't seem to trigger. And the Trim, I can't get a response for that but I'll keep working on it. "3.5 units, 0 and 0" Edit. I've just read the trigger sounds in the manual: 4. Takeoff speeds challenge. Trigger for the next phrase is the V2 value. Example syntax: VEE TWO ONE FOUR THREE I'll keep working on the Trim response - out of interest how many decimal places can I quote in the number? eg is 3.75 units ok or is it expecting 3.8 units? 4 POINT ZERO UNITS ZERO AND ZERO. Cheers Nick

What should we be speech training for V1, V2 VR? "Vee One" or "V1". "Vee Rotate", or just "rotate"?

Funny Question: Who is the third guy in the cockpit?

Probably just a random thing they put in for fun - deadhead maybe? -

Just in case anyone's interested, Bryan found out it's 209 seconds after selecting takeoff flaps

Some interesting water tweaks that Beau posted
NZ255 replied to DylanM's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Yeah - I'm guessing you could use one of the 5 textures for the odd white cap....cool! -
I thought you were talking about this: http://flightclub.jalopnik.com/airbus-wants-to-take-the-cockpit-out-of-the-cockpit-of-1598171449 Which is an even worse idea

Have you tried running unlimited?

Don't know if you've come across this one: http://flightsim.co.nz/repaints/details/533

I don't want to speculate but remember this program could be doing countless of other things in the background. It does seem all pretty suspect for one dev team, checkout the list of members:

This is a bug in FSX, the wheels are supposed to stay locked to the ground but it was broken in SP2. Hopefully something LM can fix in P3D
-
Because it came up as a notification in our OpsCentre

I don't understand why people jump into a $70 product without reading the manuals.... It's not like it's something simple! Why not get as much out of a product as you can. Learn more and more about it. Anyway I've just wasted a few minutes of my life, I'm sure Kyle understands

How did she manage that? VIP entourage?
