  1. Hello, I just got back into flight simming after a 12 month brake and lot of things happened. I ran DX10 fixer before so I wanted to get back into FSX with DX10 again. But right after installing FSX and new version of DX10 Fixer I ran into this: IMAGE: http://i.imgur.com/k4zNvGF.jpg Can you see the (FSX default) sky sort of banding? Just look at the sky pictures and see.. also I dont know why but the ground textures at FlyTampa LOWW are duplicating and they are all rendered in block patterns.. I shoud say that I have FTX Global Base / Vector / Europe LC installed too. I tesed DX9 and it all works ok. I never had this issue before (12 months) ago with DX10. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.
  2. Great news guys! Patiently waiting for the hotfix..
  3. Steve, quick question - I did see a known issue as per Fixer's version 2.1 build 43 - Aerosoft Oslo needs Version 2.0 Transparency in Legacy Dialog disabled, the ground lighting is solid otherwise. So I disabled the v2.0 Transparency and it indeed works now but are you planning to take a look into this problem so we could use the new v2.0 Transparency logic and also don't have the yellow square solid boxes around the airport? Thanks, can't wait for next update..
  4. Really?? May I ask about your fixer settings? How do you have your lights package set? Any changes as far as the general shader and the legacy slider? I also have the payware fixer - everything works flawlessly except for the AI nav lights (flying on VATSIM) that are cutting off / not visible in distace during cruise .. I'd really appreciate more insight into this issue
  5. Models work fine with fixer. Nav lights won't ever work in DX10 properly unless changes will be made in the game engine. There is no way to fix the NAV lights cutting off issue from Steve's side.
  6. Any news as far as the dark ground textures at night in Vienna and other airports? Still experiencing the same.. Steve, did you manage to look into this?
  7. MarkVcz replied to Kermit27's topic in PMDG 777
That's amazing. I'm switching on the VC shadows right now. I'll hopefully do a quick VATSIM flight later.. I'll see about the FPS loss but DX10 is silky smooth for me when compared to DX9..
  8. MarkVcz replied to Kermit27's topic in PMDG 777
Can you snap and upload a picture of the virtual cockpit with enabled DX10 shadows? Are you experiencing any fps loss? I'm still using DX10 without VC shadows but thinking about trying it out..
  9. YAY! Finally someone with MTX and DX10. Can I ask what are your settings in the MTX's Aircraft Config Editor (as pictured above) and what are your DX10 fixer settings as far as effects configuration?
  10. Thanks so much for your tips guys! I'll try to test it on Sunday. Anything else I should know as far as maybe configuring FSInn in terms of rendering the aircraft lights? Anything else that might affect the lights visibility and cutoff under DX10? @FlyAndFight Are you flying with MTX on VATSIM under DX10?
  11. Alright. I might give it a try this week and see.. if that fails I will try to get UT2 because that seems to work for you.. In MyTraffic X settings there is also this setting "Enable Effect Light": Do you have any idea what this setting could actually affect as far as DX10? What would be the difference if I tick it or not.. Maybe you have a similar settings in Ultimate Traffic 2?
  12. If I understand this correctly - you did not tick the Compatible Lights during the installation of libraries? Or did you actually tick it and install it and just disabled it later in the settings? I might have better luck with UT2 instead of MyTraffic X...
  13. I'm still having problems with AI lights on VATSIM. I'm using MyTraffic X models - any of you guys are using those successfully on VATSIM under DX10 with working AI lights (not cutting off and visible)? Marks - Can I ask you what are your exact steps that you did with DX10 fixer to get the AI lights working properly (even if it broke other effects)? Are you running DX10 fixer version 2.0? What AI aircraft models are you using (and it's settings)? The only thing that bugs me with DX10 are the AI lights. I know some of you guys run DX10 on VATSIM without any problems so if anyone could share an insight how you can fix this bug, that would really be great. Thanks!
  14. Dietmar, Well, the DX10 fixer is a amazing and powerful tool as far as fixing most of the DX10 related bugs. The only thing I'm still stuck on (and still maybe considering going back to DX9) are these AI aircraft lights. I do fly online on VATSIM so I'd like to see other planes around me huh. Let me quote Steve (month or two back): "Now there is no 100% solution to dx10 nav lights..." I was trying to figure out a way to get the lights working on VATSIM in this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/425551-version-11-build-24-invisible-ai-traffic-lights/ Since then I did not have time to fire up FSX and test the new version of DX10 fixer - maybe things have changed for better? I also dealt with the gray textures but I made the switch to MyTraffic X and the textures are all good. Steve, I know we may never see a definitive fix for the AI lights under DX10 but are there any changes in 2.0 or even changes that you are working on now that could fix this? And I can't believe I'm the only one here trying to fly on VATSIM under DX10 and still having a problems with AI lights - please, anyone on the forum found a fix or settings to get this working with the fixer?
  15. So I took my time to do couple flights on VATSIM to test things out. Flying with lights package and without effects enabled seems to be the best solution. But I figured out that the light visibility is sadly totally random in flight. Sometimes I can see the planes fine, sometimes just for couple seconds, sometimes I can't see lights at all.. also the VC view zoom and view angle affects the visibility. It's pretty sketchy.. also did you see the picture I attached in my previous post? the setting inside MyTraffic X..? If you could find a definitive solution for online flying (is it even possible in the future given the current DX10 implementation?) and the AI plane lights that would be a big thing for the fixer.. Thanks!
  16. I noticed the dark ground texture at Vienna 2.5 too. Can you report on how it looks like under DX9? I wasn't sure if it's how the scenery should look like or if it is a DX10 texture issue..
  17. Not true at all. Vinenna X just got a big (free) update with DX10 support. I think version 2.5. All the lights are now working under DX10. I'm flying there almost every day..
  18. This could be seriously good and helpful tool. Go for it man! Thanks for your work!
  19. Alright, yeah, that's what I thought at first. Now you got it confirmed from someone also running Windows 8 as you do. Looks like to only complete solution would be to hop back to Windows 7.
  20. I wish I had all the time to test all the variables... I uninstalled the DX10 Lights Package and disabled DX10 Compatible Lights. Just flew one flight online with this configuration. When I'm lined up on RWY and watched an aircraft in front of me departing I could see his lights all the way until he disappeared in the clouds. When I was climbing out of London (at about FL100) I could see (really subtly) the strobe lights of other aircraft on my left side about 20nm from me at the same FL. While flying at FL350 I could not see the lights of other aircraft passing in the other direction about 15nm on the right. No idea why. The question here is also from how far you can actually see the aircraft lights (also how far the planes are drawn and rendered)? In MyTraffic X settings there is also this setting "Enable light effects": I'm not really sure how this setting might affect the lights visibility under DX10... I have it checked all the time for all my aircraft. I can't also figure exactly what role the DX10 Lights Package that you can install is playing in terms of AI lights in the sim. I do understand that the DX10 Compatible Lights setting will convert all the lights fx into DX10 compatible ones but I just don't get the whole picture of dealing with lights rendering under DX10.. Thanks for your inputs.. EDIT: Also one more quick question: When I uninstalled the main libraries and installed them again without the DX10 Lights Package I saw that the DX10 Compatible Lights setting was checked as "enabled" by default. So I just disabled the compatible lights right after the libraries re-installation. Is that a normal behaviour?
  21. That's weird. I do have the Extreme 3D Pro, no FSUIPC, no joystick drivers (just default auto installation from Windows side) and Windows 7 - all runs good, no issues at all. There is definitely a chance that you are having this problem due to Windows 8 (I don't think the old FSX architecture helps) and I'm not sure to what extend PMDG supports Win8. It might be something else though.. just my two cents.
  22. uh? why is that? You know there is a little software coming with the T7 called "Operations center". Select the PMDG 777-200 and look up the documentation there.. lot of interesting things in there btw. did you find it?
  23. Exactly. That's the no.1 reason to just leave it off.. and also the FSX crash detection is actually sort of crappy.
  24. Anyone here using MTX and got a working solution for latest version of MyTraffic X under DX10 on VATSIM (via FSInn)? I just can't get the AI lights working in greater distance.. All is running extremely well except for AI aircraft lights.. I did try setting the effects ON in the fixer. I also should mention that I'm flying the PMDG B77L.. Thanks everyone for any input here..
  25. This sounds correct to me. 1nm should be good. I was really hoping we'll see the shadows settings in the fixer eventually. Thank you for working on this!
