  1. Looks like I am flying to Lukla again soon, really enjoyed it in FSX . I've already got all three recommended fixed wing aircraft waiting in my hanger.
  2. Some bush flying over the Okavango delta to the many bush landing strips from FBMN
  3. As far a I know the GTN uses its own Garmin database that is part of the Garmin trainer. It does not read the P3D files and can not be updated by Navigraph. Still works very well though and use it in every plane in my hanger.
  4. I use the build in SimDirector that allows you to place objects directly in your scenery and export it to a bgl file. Work well with small projects. Takes long to load but otherwise works quite well.
  5. As far as I know the Aerosoft ATR 72 is actually a Carenado product. I had the Flight 1 ATR in the FS days and liked it a lot but I have not been tempted to try the Carenado ATR's. For something in that class I now fly the QW Dash 8 Q400
  6. Ive been flying the Q400 after the upgrade to the hotfix (went directly from 4.4 to 4.5 hotfix) without any problems.
  7. +1 for the Mustang, I did a tour of Australia in a Mustang a while ago. It added a bit of a challenge, is fast with a good range and just enough AP functions.
  8. Had the same experience with tailwinds while taxing. Very unpredictable and twitchy.
  9. I am running on a I7 9700k with a gtx1080 and I am getting lower FPS flying the DA62 vs the A2A Bo (with F1 GNT 750). Still getting 45-50 FPS on the DA62 but I am getting around 60 FPS on the Bo with the same display settings out of ORBX LOWI. (mostly to the right) The DA62 is a great plane and I fully understand the performance penalty flying this very nice glass cockpit.
  10. Great plane, it is now my firm favorite. I had two intermittent CTD's with the DA62 but it does not happen all the time. I am flying on outopilot using HDG mode doing some sight seeing at fairly low level. I then decide to fly to an airport and click on Direct To. The moment I turn the inner dial on the G1000 to enter the airport P3D stops responding and crashes to the desktop. I do not see any error messages. It has now happened twice, once on the left hand unit and once once the right hand unit, but it does not happen every time I use Direct To, any advice would be appreciated.
  11. Great plane, been flying up the US west coast in short flights from the LA area and currently in Portland (Pearson - KVUO). Good frame rates with heavy clouds. Maybe I missed it, had a look at the G1000 manual but I do not see ant way to display traffic in the sim. It is in the manual but the factions for the keys in the sim does not show. Is there a way to turn TCAS on or off in the plane? Transponder is turned on and seems to be working. Thanks.
  12. I don't often fly at night but this topic tweaked my interest, so I did some investigation. HDR disabled but dynamic lighting enabled. I found something interesting when sitting in the Milwiz C310 Redux at night. I parked near a rotating airport beacon (green and white) and saw that the green light was casing a very noticeable beam on the ground while the white light did not do so. From the outside view looking towards the beacon the aircraft was lit up in the green light as the beam swept past but looking away from the beacon at the aircraft in outside view nothing happened. The white light did nothing at all. Sitting in the cockpit the green beam did not light up the aircraft exterior parts like the wings. The taxi and landing lights light up objects like building, planes and other objects very nicely but are hardly visible on the ground and runways. At ORBX Gold coast that has dynamic apron lighting the C310 does not seem to be lit up at all while the A2A Baron was definitely brighter on one side of the aircraft that faces the apron lighting. Looks like the reflections are aircraft dependent. Does dynamic reflections play a role?
  13. Can not recall that there was any mention of this in the release notes....
  14. I upgraded to an i7 9700K and a GTX1080 GPU a few weeks ago and thought that it would be the end of all stutters only to find that this was not the case. I then noticed something that I knew from the FSX days, but thought was solved a long time ago. The stutters started when I went to another window (I was playing around with Process Lasso, performance tools, mapping toots etc) and then went back to P3D (now paused) and continued flying. If you open the display settings menu and just close it immediately (cancel) things smoothed out immediately. I know that this may be a well know cure and you may be doing it already, but I did not realise that this still an issue in P3D v4.3
  15. Thanks for the feedback, I thought this thread went cold. I will it another look.
  16. One of the aircraft I really missed from my hanger when I upgraded to version 4. A definite buy from me. I do not have time for long haul flights and the 146 is ideal for a quick flight short flights.
  17. I reinstalled the 310R, made core 7 available available as well in Process Lasso and did the same in the F1GTNConfig tool. That seems to have done the trick. Now the GTN's hardly seems to use any of the available power of the two cores available to it.
  18. I finally decided to replace my old flightsim PC (windows 7) with a new more up to date PC. I got a I7 9700K with a GTX 1080 (the price of the new 20xx cards are just ridiculous) running with a SSD for the OS and one SSD dedicates to P3D and I finally made the leap to Windows 10. Now my system boots in seconds and I can get flying right away. Installed P3D V4.3, mesh my ORBX product, fsuipc, Chaseplane, AS weather and clouds and my A2A planes, currently flying the Bonanza and P51 Civ. The performance of the new system is great, getting 80 fps and above at ORBX LOWI and Cityscene Gold Coast with most sliders maxed and changing AA settings does not really change performance and everything is silky smooth. (single 1080 monitor) However, when I installed the Flight 1 GTN complete package I noticed that I suddenly got slight pauses while flying and when I installed the Milwiz 310R Redux with both the GTN 750 and GTN 650 installed the GPS units are very unresponsive. I used process lasso to isolate the GTNs to a dedicated core (Core 8) as suggested the F1 GTN support forum and noticed that that core is maxed out all the time. On the old PC the 310 worked fine and was relatively smooth and both GTN's worked OK. Did I miss something in the new install or are the F1 GTN's just a performance hog. Will the RXP GTN's give me better performance? Could it be a Windows 10 or anti virus issue (I had to create and exception on the antivirus to get the GTNs to work)? Could it be chaseplane? Any pointer will be much appreciated.
  19. Looks interesting, will give it a try.
  20. I noticed that Aeroplane Heaven have a Lancaster available that seems to be compatible with P3D V4. I have no previous experience with their products but flying the Lancaster would seem to be a different experience and I like flying the classics from A2A and the PMDG DC6. Has anyone given the Lancaster a try in V4.3 and what can I expect from the developer.
  21. Keep in mind that their sales normally do not include the latest releases.
  22. NOOOOO, not tested on Windows 7 64 bit. Will have to wait for feedback to see if there are any issues.
  23. Real disappointing, looks like a stunning plane and I like the older classic planes but if it does not fly and sound like a classic, what is the point. Will hold back and see if it gets fixed.
  24. Tried the C130 just for fun as I flew it often many moons ago in FSX and its age does show. I found that the plane does not display a normal stall behavior in P3D, when it stalls it just suddenly tumbles out of the sky, completely out of control with no warning. Any one else experienced this?
  25. EZdoc seems to be interfering with the ground handling of aircraft. Poor steering response using rudder or differential brakes.
