December 13, 200916 yr I'm in for sure. One thing that could be a problem though is that some people might not want to "pre-order" just because they don't like putting in all their credit card information out on the internet like that.I know quite a few people who would just have a hard time doing that. You probably will get a lot of pre-orders for FS9, just not as much as there actually would be when the product is released. I would LOVE to see the NGX for FS9 though (FSX just hasn't reached the point in my heart that FS9 has...yet).I suggested this in a post that was erased. If they receive enough pre-orders make the plane, if not let the money go towards another plane in FSX. Carl Perry 7 year pilotHope they don't erase this tread.
December 14, 200916 yr What, if not enough money is received from FS9-ers to develop a product, use that money to develop a FSX addon? Wow, first FSX-ers were trying to kill off us FS9-ers, now they want us to subsidise them? Crazy. :( Cheers, Chris D I do not have a signature. Why are you reading this?
December 14, 200916 yr Great idea; I'm in, of course.... :( I won't switch to FSX, so a NGX for FS9 would indeed be nice.Regards,Jure
December 14, 200916 yr Commercial Member Guys, I asked and unfortunately we can't do something like this. We've always kinda had a rule here against taking money for products that don't exist. I got an earful about the potential pitfalls of doing it when I asked, and while I can't get into what all those things are, suffice it to say it creates an accounting nightmare for us and a moral quandary if there's product delays and so forth. It just can't happen, sorry.I do want to applaud Ian's creativity here though - all too often we see people coming in here and just complaining about something without actually offering up any kind of solution. Despite the negative response on this, this IS the kind of thinking we like when someone takes issue with something. Please know that the FS9 version is not definitively canceled or anything like that, we will do a fair evaluation when the time comes. December 14, 200916 yr Okay Ryan, understood. Pity, but understandable.Out a matter of curiosity: what will you actually use to evaluate? Current sales? If that's so, I'll wait buying the MD-11 until you evaluate :-P Benjamin van Soldt Windows 10 64bit - i5-8600k @ 4.7GHz - ASRock Fatality K6 Z370 - EVGA GTX1070 SC 8GB VRAM - 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX @ 3200MHz - Samsung 960 Evo SSD M.2 NVMe 500GB - 2x Samsung 860 Evo SSD 1TB (P3Dv4/5 drive) - Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM - Seasonic FocusPlus Gold 750W - Noctua DH-15S - Fractal Design Focus G (White) Case
December 14, 200916 yr At least we haven't been dismissed outright which is a good thing. All we have asked is fair consideration when the time comes. While we are few in numbers here on the forums, interest outside the forum still could be right large. While we are few in numbers here on the forums, interest outside the forum still could be right large. Thanks Ryan.Mike ShannonMy reason for wanting the FS9 737NG so bad is I need a more automated mid range plane. I have the Maddog MD80 which takes alot of manual input and monitoring. I only fly that plane when I have time to sit through the whole flight planning, fuel and passenger loading and monitoring for ice build up during flight. She needs alot of care. A new PMDG 737 would be perfect. I am currently waiting on the advance Airsimmer A320 but would also Love to have a new PMDG 737. This would be the plane to complete my FS9 experience. I will never give up FS9 but may in the far future look at FSX if nothing else comes out. Some peolpe still play PAC-Man video games too. How old is that game?Carl Perry 7 year sim pilot
December 15, 200916 yr If PMDG did indeed follow the advice to the thread-starter, i can guarantee that i would be one of, if not the first one to pre-order for FS9, but unfortunately that doesen't seem to be happening Kind regards Jan H Dahl

December 18, 200916 yr I wanted the MD 11 when I first saw it was going to be made, however by the time it came out I had collected a few other large aircraft for use on FS9 so I never bought it as I had no need for one more long haul aircraft. I still only use fs9 as I have way too much invested and the improvments from fsx dont offer enough at this time to swop over. However I can state that there is still plenty of room for short range aircraft in fs9 as there are few availiable. the only good turboprop for fs9 is still the ATR from flight1 and the only good 737 is from wilco,!! Other than the PMDG 737 that was made for fs2000. I would have bought the J41 for fs9 and I would have paid in advance for a good 737. Please concider that one of the fact's that the MD11 fsx out sold the fs9 version is there was more room for fsx sale as there was far less quality aircraft availiable for that platform. I know all this has been thrashed around meny times but count me in for a garenteed fs9 sale should you decide to make it for us fs9ers,
December 18, 200916 yr .../...the only good 737 is from wilco,!! .../...Interesting opinion ! As far as I am concerned, it's not bad ...as long as you remain on the ground. Maybe (probably?) it's me, but I never could manage a smooth flight in it (with autopilot on). Maybe the PMDG forum is not the best place for this kind of discussion but I am curious to hear what other 737 pilots (especially RW) have to say about that !Bruno

I'm in no matter what.(I'd be even more interested in a Q400 for FS9,though,but maybe Oleksiy will do that one,I am soooo hoping he isn't developing for you guys now.)cheersJP.
December 18, 200916 yr I have only ever ordered prior to release on a single occasion. It was not a particularly good experience. Pre-release purchases obviously put large amounts of pressure on the development team to get the product out on time, or face the wrath of the customer base when you announce that you will be unable to deliver on time...As much as I would most likely want to see the NGX being developed for FS9, I really don't think I would go so far as to put up my hard earned cash prior to its release onto the market. As I mentioned, I went down that road once and the experience was enough for me.I really enjoy the MD11 in FS9. When I picked it up, I didn't contemplate FSX in the near future. I now run FSX as well and get usable performance at most standard locations with medium settings. The JS41 works generally well enough. No doubt the MD-11 would work there too...I would support the production of the NGX for FS9 but I am open enough to admit that I would not put my money where my mouth is prior to its release... I see it as unnecessary pressure that may well lead to an immature product in the worst case...Just my 2c...Andrew Andrew Entwistle
