New FS9 737 NG on its way

Featured Replies

I'd actually pay (and wouldn't have a problem with it) for a decent 737NG series. It's disappointing iFly is doing the -600 first. The -700 would have been a better choice for a starting point in this series. The PMDG 737NG has no flexing wings which is one of the most prominent features of this aircraft in flight. A 737NG flying without flexing wings looks totally wrong in the air. The dimensions in the VC of the PMDG 737 bird is totally wrong. At this stage of the game we really do need an upgrade. The PMDG 737 was great in it's day but an updated version would really capture the bird in a much more realistic light. It's a shame PMDG dropped FS9 development before getting this last requested model out. It almost makes one hate the outstanding MD11 and whoever made the terrible choice on PMDG's team to tackle that one first. It cost us the updated 737NG... :( :(
I don't care about the dimensions of the VC, flexibility of the wings etc... I just want an aircraft that be as real as its gets. In my opinion the external model could be deleted, I just an aircraft that let me make all procedures as a real pilot does in a real aircraft.

Can the crew on the REAL 737NG actually see the wings from the flightdeck? I had the impression they had to go into the cabin and look out a passenger window to see wing or engine. I've spent too many cramped hours in real world economy class to want to simulate it! (The most recent 5 hours on an Air Canada 767/300 ended any desire to fly. Seating was most uncomfortable in 50 years of travel. Makes me yearn for a stretched DC8 !)Alex Reid
Maybe you guys have better translators than I have, but I think nobody there said it would be free or that it would be -600 only.
I neither said it was going to be free, nor that it would be the 600 only. I said 'if it is free' and 'starting with the 600'. All the preview shots I have seen are of the 600, so it is reasonable to assume that is what they have made.Al

And I did not say anywhere that I was referring to you :)Anyway, I'm really eager to see what this addon will become. The FSX version will even have VSD:5176172420100330215016984_000.jpg

This model is for FSX only from what I read on Simflight... Everything on this developer's website is in Japanese.
I think it's Chinese! :(

You can definitely see the wings from the flightdeck on the 700...long wings and short fuselage. You can barely see the winglets on an 800, and not at all on the 900.I highly doubt this will be freeware looking at the complexity of the models and fightdecks...not including the program that allows you to add or remove eyebrows and winglets. I think that they are also soaking up PMDG's silliness of being of wishy washy about making one of the most (if not the most) popular aircraft in the fs9 world.I do have to say that iFly has made an interesting choice by sticking with the older MCP instead of using the newer type.Matt

This is just brilliant! I no longer have to worry about PMDG keeping us in the dark about their plans for a(n) (im)possible FS9 version of the NGX.The graphics already seem to be excellent... now I'm hoping iFly will opt to program enough aircraft system depth to give us the opportunity to simulate some failures too... Fingers crossed! :( Regards,Sylvain

True! :( I guess the misconception comes from the fact many of us used the excellent pro-level but freeware 747-400 by iFly.So we automatically assumed that would be another gift from our Chinese friends. No reason to be, of course. If it finally is as nice as it is going to be, I see no problem to buy it.Seeing it is going to be for both FS9 and FSX and much has already been done, it is going to be a big success.

This is very good news.I think we should leave PMDG alone. They made their decision, and even though i think its a flawed and morally wrong one, its their decision; they've made their bed, now they can sleep in it.I very much doubt this will be freeware looking at those screenshots, i hope it will be as good as it looks!Andy

Not knowing a lot about Boeing a/c, I must ask why are the crt's red? Is that what they look like when they are first powered on or off? Or is that some type of protective covering?

I actually don't think it will be free. if you look at all the screenshots, you'll notice some of them which show the panel, that there's "DEMO" written on the displays. Therefore, I think you may need to pay to unlock all functions of the plane. It's a pity that it's all in Chinese, otherwise I would have simply asked whether the panel will be saveable. It'll be a pity of we have another 737NG without a saveable panel that for the rest seems to be the perfect plane...

I have never seen those before. Anytime I power up a 737 to brake ride it, the screens come right up...It was either photoshopped, or they are covers.Matt
