The only thing they have in common is two engines.

I'm not sure what you're implying here, there is no legal "trial version" of the LDS 767. Please do not pirate addons - Flight 1 has a 30 day money back guarantee, just buy the plane.
I mean the same,
The only thing they have in common is two engines.
LDS 767 has fully working FMC whereas captainsim 757 don't

LeveL D makes a good plane, but its blasphemy to put it over PMDGs 747.

A must buyPeople have mentioned the VC - and yes it is dated compared to the JS41 and upcoming 737 and also levelDs 757(they posted a screen shot of it) However with the VC upgrade it is in my opionion a better looking VC than the PMDG747 - it scales better on widescreen multiple monitor setups, dont end up with clunky pillars in the way.Functional wise it is excellent - features it contains over present PMDG offeringsSDK - so hardware can be made to function directly with it, be it MCP/FMC/Switches, NO PMDG plane can do that out of the box as such, other than standard keymapping.FS2CREW voice is excellent, the 747 version isnt that great due to limitations of access to PMDGs variables, again SDK with 767 allows this.TOPCAT - better intergration with it than 747, can load fuel etc.More FPS friendly.Quite simply, the 767 is the plane that sees the most sim time here, I hardly touch the 747, as although slightly better since using LUA and macros through FSPUIC its still too gamey having to click with a mouse all the time (also saying that the leveld clicking is better than the 747 being able to right click and mouse scroll better)I fly the JS41, cus its fun and looks good and handles well, and with LUA support means im not back on the mouse again. But the 747 hardly ever sees any action as in my oponion the 767 is far superior, saying that i loved the 747 at its prime, and will love it again when its brought upto date in the next version PMDG promise us. Get the 767, get fs2CREW to go with it, and topcat, plan your trips, configure the plane, get some hardware, and until we get the 737 or 747vs2 you wont look back, apart from when you fancy a blast about in the JS41.Regards

The CaptainSim planes have fully working FMC's.. I have both LDS767 and CS767 (won it in a screenshot comp.)and I quite enjoy the both of them, the one thing I notice LDS has over the CS is total system realism.. ie. fuel dump, the CS doesn't have this. However with the winglet update and vc update, I find myself flying the LDS more than the CS.

Don't bother. If it was your first advanced add on, then I would say go for it. Then the PMDG747, the MD11 and then the JS41. But since you already have more recent and more advanced add ons, I think you will find the LevelD to be just too many steps backward. Somebody asked if RSR has a copy in his drawer? I am certain he does because in its day, the LDS 767 was the best sim on the market, and set the standard PMDG was aiming for. A better question might be when was the last time RSR took it out of his drawer, as sadly (or happily), the days of it being the best have been and gone, and while the recent patch adding winglets was nice, it was far too little and far too late (for me).

Paul Smith.

I agree that CS 757 and 767 is more realistic because it has virtual cabin and a detailed VC as compared to that of LDS 767 but as far as I know the FMC in CS products has very limited functions, as per this point of view LDS 767 wins. I also noticed another thing in LDS 767 that it sounds horrible, just like an angry bullock, apart from all that I would like to say that it is a good payware because I bought it few minutes ago. It is frame rate friendly and a descent looking 767 for fsx. But, I am disappointed by it's VC, it is way too dated. anyway, I will keep up with it. thanks for help, you all are respected.regards,Prakhar Tripathi

You should be asking the question on the LeveL D forum not here.
If I would have done that, then I would have been convinced badly.

the captain sim exterior is a poor representation of the 767, it has too be said,, the LEveld looks and feels like a 767

Hi to all,As explained by a lot of "colleagues" LDS767 is one of the best add-on for Fs9 and fsx;Of course grapichs is a bit "out of date" but that think has been a big advantage for me when, till last July, I was using an old computer because it's the software having the best frame rates with FS (I'm interested in acheiving the best flight-dynamics and so simflying "as real as I can get" not at graphics).Keep in mind also that is failure generator maybe won't have all the failures of the B744 pmdg but all the system are rapresented there: i.e. raèid cabin decompression etc. if you, on the contrary, try to set this kind of failure by using the B744, B737 or Md11 pmdg you couldn't find any failure regarding that problem (neither by opening a door during cruise) and so also with flight controls failures or hydraulics system (if you try a total hydraulics failure in the B744 manu by selecting four "hydraulics leaks" one for system so letting the hydraulics systems completely empty you'll find that you will be able to move the controls normally that never happens with LDS767....So buy it immediately!CiaoAndrea - Como - I

Hi,The modeling is not that good?, are you kidding me. The Level-D 767 is an outstanding aircraft and its system/sub-system setup has stood the test of time. The system setup is just as great today as it was when it was first released. With McPhat Studios getting ready to release HD exterior textures, it will take another step forward in becoming an outstanding (visual) looking aircraft. The "ONLY" thing missing, is today's standard of a VC, if that was to be updated to today's standards it would once again take its place at the top of the heap. Well, until the 737NGX is released and lives up to all the hoopla. Right now all we have are photos and videos, until this lady (PMDG 737-NGX) is in my possession I'll reserve any judgments.

The graphic is out of date LOL. It's graphic is ancient. The modelling is not that good. The cockpit looks like a picture. In my opinion it is not a good buy. A waste of money if you wanted to buy it today in comparison to the PMDG. When it came out in 2004 it was ok, but it has had its day.I would save your money and buy the 737 PMDG. This is far superior in design over LDS767.

Huh - it seems my post was deleted. As far as I'm aware it didn't break any rules of the forum, though I did compare the LDS 767 with the PMDG 744. It was my personal opinion as a customer of both companies and no more unrelated to PMDG as this entire thread discussing the LDS 767.In summary: get it. You won't be disappointed.Best regards,Robin.

Did you download and install the winglet update that also includes the updated VC texures? If not, register on the LDS forums and download the winglet update and you will probably find that the updated VC textures that come with it make the VC look a little better.Sean Campbell

In my opinion, anyone who places the LDS over PMDG's 744 or MD11 hasn't done a proper inspection of the manuals and failure system. The 744 and MD11 are true to the real bird in the most obscure of ways, and that is what puts it on top for me. It is immersive, but really doesn't have the full immersive experience than that of PMDG.To be honest, you're never really going to see much in terms of failures anyway, so the thought that a robust failure system is that in which you pop a door open mid-flight and decompress is somewhat a fallacy. While it could happen, it's not likely. The more common things are transient items where you handle it, write it up in the tin and never even think about touching the transponder.
